The other starting companions are not fixed,

example

u can start the first game using 2 companions (cost 2),
u can start the next game using Aragorn alone at the beginning (cost 4)

The target of the card must be spottable,u must have ANOTHER Smeagol in discards pile in order to use this event as u want to,and u have to play the Smeagol from discards pile,not the one u discarded...
