The ideal of Scalpelexis/Extirpate to trigger a huge combo of deck discarding always intrigued me, here’s the new morningtide version.

New and Improved with MORNINGTIDE!

Lands (22):

Dreadship Reef x 4
Underground River x 4
River of Tears x 4
Swamp x 7
Island x 3

Creatures (24):

Frogtosser Banneret x 4
Earwig Squad x 4
Vedalken Mastermind x 4
Scalpelexis x 4
Oona’s Prowler x 4
Prickly Boggart x 4

Instants (11):

Extirpate x 3
Familiar’s Ruse x 4
Nameless Inversion x 4

Planeswalker (3):

Liliana Vess x 3

Tutor with Liliana to grab the cards you need. Prickly Boggart and Oona’s Prowler use evasion to hit your opponents. Once they do, prowl an Earwig Squad, bounce with Vedalken Mastermind to prowl again, and again. That allows you target removal of the cards you want gone most. Extirpate is great for thinning the deck even more, and then swing with a Scalpelexis. By this time, the deck should be so thinned out that it will remove a TON of cards from the game, by principles of mathematical probabilities. A couple hits with one of these in such a thick deck as your opponent should have by this time, and you’re set!

3 for vedalken, 3 for earwig squad, 5 for both Liliana and Scalpelexis, not to mention having to have at least THREE different creatures on the table at the same time... Isn’t it a little hard to pull off?

Consistently, yes, but I think that if you simply run Earwig Squad as is it works, and then you can bounce as you get the cards.
