A quick thought to generate some discussion:
On D’s forums, lots of talk was bandied around about starting a LotR Player’s Committee to fix broken cards, add errata, maybe make new sets, etc. Lots of talk, but no real action or follow-through.
Now it seems that those forums are unavailable. In the meantime, I’ve noticed that there have been quite a few threads on broken cards that need fixing, along with suggestions on how to fix them here on CC. It seems like generally CC members are able to come to some consensus about how cards should be changed.
As far as I can tell, CC forums are the most active LotR forums left online. So I’d like to suggest this thought: CC is the PC. Do you agree?
Or why not have CC members elect a PC from among themselves? |

We talked about this not too long ago, and even had a seperate forum set up for it (which I was co-moderating), but it never went anyway. A couple former Decipher employees and acquaintances of D employees were in some kind of talks with Decipher about copyrights and such. They kept asking us to hold on until they were done. Well, that talk died down months ago and now the forum we opened has been shut down.
I’d be all for it, and happy to help in any way I could, just as I was then. But I think we WOULD need Big D’s blessing in some way before we started making "official" rulings.
And we’d need to confirm that we’re all that’s left. Personally, I don’t believe that...I’m just not sure where else all the other LOTR TCG fans HAVE migrated to. I think we need to find them and band together if this is really going to happen. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

I somewhat doubt that Big D is going to have much to say on the issue... I know it IS important, but they seem to have given up on LotR. Is the site you were talking about lotrtcgpc.com? Was it "shut down" by Big D or due to lack of activity?

True, I’m sure there are MANY LotR fans around the world. This just seems to be a noticeable hotspot of online activity. |

If you REALLY want to do this, then put together a formal proposal and forward it to Kendrick Summers. It really is in the best interest of all involved, let alone the playing community.
Ask for advice from the Advocates at swccgpc.com. What obstacles did they encounter? What types of people are the best for volunteers? In essence, how do they keep Star Wars CCG alive and how do they do it with Decipher and Lucasfilm’s blessing? |
When we do it in Iraq, it's called progress. When we do it here in the US, it's called socialism.

I guess I was thinking... why not have CC players form a PC, even if it is only for themselves? If sometime in the future an official PC appears, that’s fine, but until then, CC could self-govern. |

I was running lotrtcgpc.com and was asked to take it offline by those working with Decipher at the time. |

We should just start one, Decipher has clearly given up on LotR TCG so we, the players, have to take it upon ourselves.
Heck, put enough money together we could start buying licenses and printing our own. |
