You need to leave mana open, you need them to cast a spell, and, even if they do, you either throw it out targetting an irrelevant spell, just for the sake of using the two mana you left open for it, and they’ll simply let it be countered, or you try it against a spell you REALLY need to counter, which they’ll force through. It’s a lose/lose situation, no matter how you put it. Browbeat, while still sucking, is at least better than it, in that it accomplishes more in a related strategy,and it’s an independent card. |

I played around with the deck some and on a whim decided to run Terror. It played much better except against burn decks so imma run 4 Terror with Dash in the SB(which btw is the only cards in SB at this point)
All i need to do is find 4 Thoughtseizes. I got 4 Pates in a trade
Anyone wanna help a mtg playa out? |

What’s a Pates, out of curiosity? Also, NBarden, if you get to that situation, the other player putting everything in an X spell and winning means:
a) His strategy worked better than yours, so he deserved to win;
b) He got really really lucky.
Either way, it’s not the common-case scenario, so if you get them down to those 5 life, you’ll win anyway. Dash Hopes won’t do a thing for ya 99% of the time, so don’t bother. |

Thoughtseize is way better, it’ll be tough cross-trading them. But doable, nonetheless, what with a low amount of people buying Planar Chaos, and a whole bunch buying Lorwyn. |

combo thoughtseize with extirpate makes for some very pissy opponents early in the game in my experience anyway |

Sure does. I ran it in my pre-Morningtide Mannequin’s sideboard. Great against D-Storm, also. |
