| How does it work? I mean I see these Rohan companions that say valiant. Is that only for the spotting ability on some events? |

It is an unloaded keyword (much like Ranger, or Stealth, or Easterling) there are no rules associated with it, but there are cards that key off of it.
Loaded keywords are words like Damage +1, Archer, and Toil. There is a rule associated with that word that isn’t printed on the card. |
