is it true you can only have x threats when you have x companions?
and if a shadow player ads threats above the number of companions, then what happens? |

The only case in which there are more threats than companions, is if one of your companions gets discarded. If this happens, it’s OK.
But... If there are threats equal to or greater than the number of companions, no more can be added (even if a card says to add them)
The only situation in which this is a problem, is if you’re using Gimli, Bog, and you have to add burdens |

That was my concern about using my Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver.
But if I had threats equal to companions, and I put Pippen into my hand, then I would just have one more threat than companions.
...and another situation would be when using Swept Away and you have full threats. Then you have to discard it. |

im fairly sure that:
yes only 6 threats
Say there was 9 companions and there was already 3 threats before you added them. You would add 6 more to make it 9 (equal to companions), but then, during the regroup phase (card text) you would remove all 9 if you did not kill a companion. |
