37 cards is too many mate, you need to cut it down some. Certain decks cycle well, and corruption isn’t one of them. If you want to have a good chance of setting up early - which this deck needs to do - you need to have as few cards as possible in the deck. Unfortunately that means you can’t have those "would be nice" cards like Wisp and Ithil Stone. Wisp is dependent on making it to the regroup phase alive, which often won’t happen, and Ithil Stone will help you draw through your deck, but your minions are roaming for a very long time, so it won’t help that much when you can’t play many minions anyway. I’d only play probably 1 Enduring Evil, just because it’s meant to be a late game surprise (when it would be most effective anyway). Having one makes it more likely that you’ll get it later in the game, and if you do happen to get it early, think about the psychological effect it would have on your opponent to see you use it just to either win a small skirmish or to get it out of your hand. They would approach the game from a different manner from that point on, giving you an additional edge. If they think you might have another later, they will probably factor that in when making assignments, possibly giving you another burden rather than risk losing a companion.
Just some thoughts from a guy who has explored the realm of this deck to its limits. |

For more fun on the corruption front, you want to burn through your opponent’s deck on your free people’s side so that he feels he can’t ditch the cards for DDotR. I usually play tanked dwarves with Durin, Ring of Guile and Nobody Tosses a Dwarf and Dwarven Axes. I actually had a turn where I made someone discard 10 cards from the top of their draw deck after Durin won a skirmish... It was a lot of fun to go through 1/6 of their total deck with one swing. Not fun for them though. Be careful how much discard you play though. People generally view it as a very big NPE. |

Although I do despise Open Format for all its broken-ness, that format would allow you to play Final Account, with which you could recycle either previously discarded DDotR or just more minions.
Just a thought... |

I play / discard. Lemme dig up the decklist...
EDIT:
Gimli, Bearer of Grudges
The One Ring, The Ring of Rings
Thorin III, Stonehelm
Durin III, Dwarven Lord
Ring of Guile x 4
Ring of Accretion
Ring of Retribution
Strands of Elven Hair x 2
Dwarven Axe x 4
Hand Axe x 4
Dwarven Bracers
Dwarven Armor x 2
Arod, Rohirrim Steed
Till Durin Wakes Again x 2
Nobody Tosses a Dwarf x 4
Flurry of Blows x 2
Awkward Moment x 2
Axe Strike x 2
Delving x 4
Shadow
Siege Troop x 2
Tower Lieutenant x 3
Gorgoroth Stormer x 4
Orc Officer x 2
The Mouth of Sauron, Lieutenant of Barad-Dur x 2
Bill Ferny, Swarthy Sneering Fellow
Orc Scimitar x 2
Grond, Hammer of the Underworld
Desperate Defense of the Ring x 4
Thin and Stretched x 2
Tower of Barad-dur x 4
The Irresistible Shadow x 2
Desperate Measures x 4
The Ring Is Mine! x 4
Ferny and the Mouth are MUST HAVE for DDotR. Awesome combo. I changed my dwarves around a little since this deck, I’ll get the updated version up later.
discard MUST be paired with discard. And Subterranean Homestead? Worthless. I’ve used it. |

Well, for a DDotR strategy, Dwarves are good, but not a must perse. I do just fine with my Rohan deck, abusing Gamling, Defender of the Hornburg to get out all possessions as well as getting a super beefy Frodo (who most of the time fights! ) I’ve seen it paired with Gondor also, and it was rather nasty. |

BTW, updated deck...
(33 cards)
Gimli, Bearer of Grudges
The One Ring, The Ring of Rings
Thorin III, Stonehelm
Durin III, Dwarven Lord
Dwarven Warrior x 4
Ring of Guile x 4
Ring of Accretion (don’t have Ring of Fury of Artifice, and Ring of Retribution stinks).
Dwarven Axe x 4
Dwarven Bracers
Hand Axe x 2
Dwarven Armor
Strands of Elven Hair x 2
Nobody Tosses a Dwarf x 4
Delving x 4 (NP, NS is better)
Dwarven Skill x 4 (Probably better to work in 4x Mountain Homestead and some Thorin’s Harp).
(33 cards)
Siege Troop x 2
Gorgoroth Stormer x 4 (Combined with Tower of Barad-Dur, a beast).
Tower Lieutenant x 3 (And then they draw cards with Gorgoroth Stormer...muahaha).
The Mouth of Sauron, Lieutenant of Barad-Dur x 2 (Um...DDotR?)
Orc Officer x 2
Bill Ferny, Swarthy Sneering Fellow (see MoS).
Grond, Hammer of the Underworld
The Irresistible Shadow x 2
Tower of Barad-Dur x 4
Desperate Defense of the Ring x 3 (I coulda swore I had 4, I need to update my trade list...)
Thin and Stretched x 2
Desperate Measures x 4
The Ring is Mine x 3
As you can tell...its 66 cards with a cyucling engine. With discard, its CRUCIAL that you draw the right cards as soon as possible. It does you no good to sit on a bunch of Desperate Measures if you don’t have any Thin and Stretched or Gorgoroth Stormer out. Consequently, its no good to be sitting on 3x The Ring is Mine and be unable to draw any burden adding card. So cycling is crucial, and though this deck has never decked out (if the FP doesn’t get shadow killed, which is rare, it has never failed to deck opponent out by site 6 (except for once, against 120 card Rohan/Uruk...creepy deck). |
