Just one new card for now while I try and figure out how to close out the culture. Enjoy! Smile

3 Dúnedain of Ithilien Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Ring-bound. Ranger. Hunter 1.
While this companion is in your starting fellowship, his twilight cost is -1.
This companion is strength +1 for each other Ring-bound companion you can spot (limit +4).

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

No complaints, other than that there weren’t really any Dunedain in Gondor in the Third Age. Just because they;re rangers, doesn’t make them Dunedain.

J.R.R. Tolkien wrote:
The hobbits sat down again, but they said nothing to one another of their thoughts and doubts. Close by, just under the dappling shadow of the dark bay-trees, two men remained on guard. They took off their masks now and again to cool them, as the day-heat grew, and Frodo saw that they were goodly men, pale-skinned, dark of hair, with grey eyes and faces sad and proud. They spoke together in soft voices, at first using the Common Speech, but after the manner of older days, and then changing to another language of their own. To his amazement, as he listened Frodo became aware that it was the Elven-tongue that they spoke, or one but little different; and he looked at them with wonder, for he knew then that they must be Dúnedain of the South, men of the line of the Lords of Westernesse.
After a while he spoke to them; but they were slow and cautious in answering. They named themselves Mablung and Damrod, soldiers of Gondor, and they were Rangers of Ithilien; for they were descended from folk who lived in Ithilien at one time, before it was overrun. From such men the Lord Denethor chose his forayers, who crossed the Anduin secretly (how or where, they would not say) to harry the Orcs and other enemies that roamed between the Ephel Dúath and the River.

I try not to take too many liberties with Tolkien. Thumbs Up

Cool. Start two of them and you have 2 7 strength rangers. Powerful but entirely acceptable. Thumbs Up

I know capturing is considered by most to be a very broken concept, but I want to do some Gondor capturing in this set. I’m working hard to try and balance capturing and rescuing, and I think I MAY finally have a good solution. But while I work that out, let’s get to a rather unique Gondor Man in this set: their future king. Smile The first two were actually posted at the beginning of this thread, before I decided to turn it into a thread about Gondor cards, but the third should be all new to you...and really, pretty unique to LOTR TCG on the whole. Cool Enjoy!

4Aragorn, Son of Arathorn Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 8
Vitality: 4
Signet: Aragorn
Ranger. Hunter 1.
While you can spot Legolas and Gimli, Aragorn gains hunter 1.
Each time Aragorn wins a skirmish, you may exert him twice and spot 2 other hunters to make the move limit +1 (limit +1) for this turn.
“‘I serve no man, but the servants of Sauron I pursue into whatever land they may go.’”

1Ranger’s Sword, Weapon of Strider Gondor
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be Aragorn.
While a hunter companion of another culture is assigned to a skirmish, Aragorn gains hunter 1.
Skirmish: If Aragorn is not assigned to a skirmish, spot an unbound hunter and discard 2 Gondor cards from hand to have Aragorn replace that hunter in a skirmish.
“We are needed south and west....There is work for the sword to do.”

4Aragorn, Man of the West Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1. While Aragorn bears no Gondor artifacts, he is also a Rohan Man.
Aragorn is strength +1 for each of the following you can spot: Rohan Man, Elf, Dwarf.
“‘They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you.’”

I would remove the limit its not necessary, with a sword you could do this twice, but exhausting aragorn is a risky business. He’s ok though.

1Ranger’s Sword, Weapon of Strider Gondor
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be Aragorn.
While a hunter companion of another culture is assigned to a skirmish, Aragorn gains hunter 1 (or hunter 2 if that companion is Legolas, Gimli, or Gandalf).
Skirmish: If Aragorn is not assigned to a skirmish, spot an unbound hunter who has less resistance than Aragorn and discard a Gondor card from hand to have Aragorn replace that hunter in a skirmish.
“We are needed south and west....There is work for the sword to do.”

Too much text for 1 cost. Also there arent any unbound hunters off the top of my head with more resistance than gorn so it renders the condition to be met pretty useless, i.e. auto usage.

4Aragorn, Man of the West Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1. While Aragorn bears no Gondor artifacts, he is also a Rohan Man.
Each unique Rohan companion gains the Aragorn signet.
Aragorn is strength +1 for each of the following you can spot: Rohan Man, Elf, Dwarf.
“‘The men have found their captain. They will follow you....’”

I dont like this double culture business sorry Dain. Probably ok but i dislike it. Rest is fine i guess.

I was also toying with Captain of the Rohirrim as a subtitle, but it didn’t seem to fit as well. I know "Man of the West" is more of a Return of the King reference, but it just seemed to fit so well here, I couldn’t help it. What do you think?

I think you made the right choice.

Maybe make it spot 2 other hunter companions.

Bearer must be Aragorn.

Again, hunter companion. Not that you would likely want to replace some Orc hunter with Aragorn, and have ’gorn and legolas fight it out, but still...

4Aragorn, Man of the West Gondor

Strength: 7

Well, now that’s odd. Two cultures. Interesting. I assume that the Aragorn signet will some how be useful to Rohan men? Because otherwise, this guy doesn’t seem that great, really. A bit odd, maybe, but not that wonderful.

You could have it be Captain of the West, but I think it’s fine as it is.
Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true.

cool!. and locking would be a much better concept than capturing. actually you could use the locking mechanic and call it capturing, which would fix the dumb name and the brokenness!!

1Ranger’s Sword, Weapon of Strider Gondor
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2

cut the second ability to busy and too good
