It’s an interesting concept, but Gandalf couldn’t directly fight sauron.
I’d choose Sauron. |

You made me laugh. If Gandalf could win, what sens would it have to destroy the ring, to fight him in wars several times. Half of the history of middle-earth would be a completele nonsens. |

Gandalf would go to the top of barad-dur and then he would try to poke sauron with his sword, but sauron blinked and knocked gandalf off.

| It would be really funny if Sauron and Gandalf were actually fighting on top of Barad-dur. Gandalf starts to lose, and he sees Gwaihir and is about to jump off....this time, though, HE MISSES and falls to his doom below. |

| Gagnut is right, due to rules set down by the Valar, Istari could not fight Sauron personally. But, if he had. Sauron goes down to the Shire when Gandalf is there, and goes on a rampage until Gandalf with 10,000 Hobbit archers make him into a pin-cushion. Then he Dies. |

I don’t know if there even were 10,000 hobbits in the entire shire also sauron didn’t really even know the shire existed for a very long time. |

After Sauron was destroyed, his spirit lived on , Then he goes to the shire and trys to destroy Gandalf. |
