Deck Notes

Bid to go first and start Gandalf, Leader of Men and Huorn. Play Saved from the Fire ASAP. Get out Treebeard, Keeper of the Watchwood and G for Grand as quickly as possible. Jarnsmid, Barding Emissary and Glamdring, Foe-hammer for burden removal. Treebeard, Keeper of the Watchwood and Pallando, Far-travelling One for condition removal. Shadow side is a typical Corsair build. We all know it does the trick and cylces well and it pairs well with Gandy/Ents.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions to improve either side, without increasing the deck size (it needs to be small to insure a Safed From the Fire early on).

you sure just one copy of each companion is okay? i mean, i’ve never played a really good ent deck, so i’m no expert, but... and how many companions do you plan to burn?!?

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

Only one Saved From the Fire is played. Four copies are so I draw it as soon as possible. Huorn is for burning. There’s nothing special about him, he’s just one of the few standard legal 2 cost Gandalf companions that I’m not already running in the deck.

Yeah, that was an awesome companion...although it’s a bit minion-ish, if you get my meaning. Almost feels like a troll.

Anyway, good deck. You’re planning on grabbing comps with SFTF, right? Is that why you’ve got only 1 copy?

Right, with seven companions that I can draw, and four saved from the fire, the basic idea is to get Treebeard and enough guys to spot for him. If need be, grab all three with SFTF. Chances are, I’ll have a companion in hand already, which will allow me to grab Treebeard, another companion, and one more card. I like the Alatar/Traveler’s Homestead combo, but I simply don’t have room. Same thing for Strange Meeting, no room.

I would switch 2 ents for a second radagast and a Gandalf, leader of the company. The reason is that you will need to play your wizards again and again in the final area, if you’re expecting to be really impossible to stop. I would also play skinkbark from hunters for his power which helps getting out of the high airs again and again
4x G for Grand(11S32)
1x Look to My Coming(13U34) => +3 , decisive pump
1x Out of the High Airs (10R17) => +1
4x Saved From The Fire(8R20)
2x Terrible and Evil(7R50)
3x The Flame of Anor(13U31)
4x Traveled Leader(12C34) => I don’t see the purpose of them
1x *Pallando, Far-travelling One(13R37)
1x *Glamdring, Foe-hammer(11R35)
1x *Sting, Weapon of Heritage(11R173) => I would change for a phial of galadriel, bloodlines version, in order to use muster during the final rush
