And that is why they are here. They can turn a match around, specially Verdant Force. I’d suggest Keiga, the Tide Star, but he said he won’t play again until Kamigawa is gone, so...

Let me rephrase.

1) If you have 7 mana turn seven, you’re having land-flooding issues.

2) Combo decks will have gone off by turn 7

3) Control decks will have Wogged your board and set up control by then (or died)

4) Wildfire will have killed enough land to own you

5) another agro deck will have won or lost by then.

Do you see Gruul beats playing anything that expensive? The Zoo? Hand in Hand? Agro doens’t play things that expensive.

How about Tidings, or, say, Wurmweaver Coil? Hum... too expensive. Tidings? Not that necessary... Carven Caryatid?

I think he needs a big creature to be sure, maybe Allosaurus Rider? Why not Sleight of Hand? Provides some advantage... Or maybe he should leave those two spots open for Time Spiral? Who knows what may be coming.

Why not Kodama of the North Tree? It’s good. Or Assault Zeppelid? Or use 4 Trygon Predators.

Kodama’s rotating out, and I think Trygon Predator may become less useful, depending on what Time Spiral unleashes. However, they MAY become MORE useful, so leaving space for 4 of him might be a cool idea.

KoTnT would be a good idea, I think, or here’s a tech: play Giant solifuge!

I’ve been thinking about the oaks and this could be a sutable replacement, Martyr of Spores.

Actually, everyone here is trying to tell you to drop the Oaks. It’s just too much bonus.

Spores is just unplayable. He’s a 1/1, which isn’t very useful, and his sacrifice ability basically turns him into a two mana giant growth that they can see coming. More often than not, it’s even less than growth.
