I don’t really see sift played to being with, though...

Japanese player’s (can’t remember his name) "True Reanimator" featured Zombify, Vigor Mortis, Compulsive Research AND Sift, all in one build. Sift and Mortis in smaller numbers, of course. But they were played.

Oh right, I bet he wanted to play two copies for an alternate sac outlet to four researches?

But yeah, it makes sense to use zombify and mortis because if they kill the reanimated thing, you can just do it again.

I believe he played 4 Researches, 1-2 Sift, some other tricky stuff, some counters, 4 Zombify and 2-4 Vigor Mortis (or 2 Mortis and 2 other weird things, IDK). Bizarre build, if you ask me, but I’ve been meaning t tweak it with Leyline of the Void and that new card that reanimates everything at once.

I didn’t see what’s bizarre about it, personally. Turn one acceleration means discarding turn two, reanimation turn three.

What do you mean turn one acceleration? Isn’t it a black and blue deck? How would it accelerate?

Well many builds were playing B/U/G for turn one acceleration and a better way to use vigor mortis, using BoPs to fix mana and defend against vore.

Although I’ve tried a build like that, but I think counterspells are better than splashing another color for speed. If you can’t speed up your deck, slow down your opponent’s! Wink

Really? I tend to think a turn 3 simic sky swallower does the trick better than countering, but I’ve always beena powerbeat/agro/aggressive player. there are no wrong threats, but there are wrong answers.

But a turn 4 SSS AFTER countering an Eye of Nowhere, Umezawa’s Jitte or anything with Spell Snare sure seems nice, too! Wink
