The vicious minion gobbling Lady?
--- end description ---
First Things First
Hey Guys, I am using my brother’s username to post this deck, so here is my Elven Archery/Eowyn Wounding and Morgul Arrows (If I had a code name it would be Gothmog). I hope you will read through it and learn something, if not please tell me. This deck is made for Expanded Format. Please read it through, review it, and give it a rating!!

Why use Elven Archery/Eowyn Wounding and Morgul Arrows and what does it do?

Elven Archery/Eowyn Wounding is a powerhouse that slaughters minions in the archery/skirmish phase. Archery cards that wound minions and pump up the archery are: Elven Bow/Many Miles/Nocked/Elven Marksmanship/ Legolas, Woodland Emissary/Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien. The Eowyn is in their to kill the surviving minions that have wounds on them, combined with Brego for more wounds.(I once had an exhausted gollum and killed three exhausted minions!) It is also pretty versatile in many games, having the ability to discard conditions with seclusion, and Hadafang(seclusion will drive many players crazy recycling them with Elrond, Witness to History) and chopping minions up ferociously with Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien. It also has a few strength events such as Attunement/and Glimpse of Fate.(Glimpse of Fate is not a Strength event, but can make minions small, if I lose initiative strength -4. Note: I can lose initiative with Nenya, Ring of Adamant. COOL HUH?)

Why use Morgul Archery?
It is a pretty easy way to get 10+ archery in one archery phase, also it is pretty cheap to build.(Probably at the most $15.00 USA) It also does pretty well in the skirmish phase, Gorbag, Covetous Captain pumps up all of your minions, as well as himself. This deck is pretty good at exerting the ringbearer and killing companions. So after all this explanation, here is my deck.

Stragety:

Free Peoples:

Bid 0 and if you go first, play Stables and pull Brego. Play anything in your hand unless it will blow the twighlight pool, and try to cycle through your hand. Use Legolas’ exertion every archery phase, use that exertion for more wounds and double move quickly(unless it is suicide) I usually put Hadafang on Arwen because she has a more chance of winning. Use Nocked to wound more minions, Elrond, Witness to History is there to recycle any elven cards such as Elven Marksmanship/Nocked/Elven Bow/Seclusion whatever. He is money so don’t let him die!! The Attunement is to make your elves more terrible and evil. Nenya, Ring of Adamant is to heal your companions, and so is Shadow Between. Arwen, Queen of Elves and Men is there to win more skirmishes and that is it. Glimpse of Fate is in there to make minions smaller if you lose initiative. Chances are you will with Nenya.

What is Elven Archery/Eowyn Wounding’s Weaknesses? (They are rated 1-5* on extremeness)

One of their big time weaknesses, is Easterling Captain/Small Hope beatdown with nasty Easterling Polearms. (That is why I stuck in Legolas, Woodland Emissary instead of any other, because of the ability to exert a minion and use that exertion to make minions bearing a polearm a smaller strength skirmishing Arwen, Queen of Elves and Men) Also, archery decks have a slight advantage over this deck, but not much since your companions heal quite a bit.

*Swarms = Pretty easy to beat, your archery will slaughter them, especially if they have 1 vitality each.
**Archery Decks = Pretty easy to beat unless they bomb you with archery. Since you heal a lot this is an easy matchup, plus North Undeep helps too. Southron Archery with Desert Lord is really easy to beat.
*****Easterling (Easterling Captain/Small Hope Beatdown) = HARD!!! Espcially with polearms, Small Hope combined in their deck, they ruin your whole day!!
**Evil Men = I personnally have not played against these guys, but evil archery will hurt this deck, but Evil Men lurkers seem pretty easy except for Pavise.
**Forest Nazgul = Pretty easy. Discard all their conditions with seclusion/Hadafang and they will not last long. Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien will be a monster.
*Uruk-Hai Decks = As easy as butter, I don’t think they have any archery prevention cards, but if there is any wound/archery prevention conditions, I can dicard them.
**Lurker Orc Swarm = A hard matchup until you get seclusion. Mind you though, they will exert your campanions so if you don’t get seclusion soon, it will be hard to beat.
**Sauron Grind = If you don’t discard Orc Bowmen with seclusion, it can mess up your whole day, so be careful on how you play against these guys.
*****Dunland = Going to be a VERY hard win for the free peoples. Since Hides is not a condition, you can’t discard it. They can prevent wounds and dicard your elven bows,so it is just plain FREAKY!!
*Twighlight Nazgul = Really easy!! If they get out His Terrible Servants, discard it with Seclusion.
*****Corruption = One of the worst matchups since you don’t have any burden removal, if your faced against a lot of these decks stick in a couple Elf Song.

Shadow Side:
Strategy:
Use "Captured by the Ring" (to play •"Gollum, Dark as Darkness" from deck/discard) in conjuction with "•Fat One Wants It" to add up to 2 threats per time Gollum is played. Then, if your Gollum chances to make it to the regroup phase, you can use "Heavy Burden" to add burdens, The threats and burdens are used by the "Morgul Ambusher"s and "Morgul Creeper"s (respectively) to add 2 to the archery total each.

"•Streaming to the Field" allows you to gain initiative, which is used by the "Morgul Lurker"s to add 2 to the archery total each.

play "•Gothmog, Morgul Commander" and have initiative at the same time, each of your minions becomes an archer. Use "•Flung Into the Fray" to stack Gothmog on top of (or an Ambusher/Creep/Lurker if it would be extremely beneficial, but most of the time... stick to Gothmog.)

"•Gorbag, Covetous Captain" is to be used to pump up your other minions

What are the Morgul archery weaknesses? (They are rated 1-5* on extremeness)

*****CHOKE = Any type of choke is probably the worst matchup, it clogs your hand and you won’t be able to cycle well, so be aware of choke.
*ARCHERY DECKS = Pretty easy, minions always shoot first, so it would be pretty easy.
**KNIGHTS = Really good against these armored fellows. Knights always exert, so this deck should counter that really easily (you can also dicard Gondor Bow with Ulaire Cantea, Faster Than Winds)
***DWARVES = Probably pretty easy if they don’t choke too much (Ulaire Cantea, Faster Than Winds also hurts dwarves because of it’s posession discarding ability)
*GONDOR WRAITHS =Super easy. They add tons of threats and when they get that Swept Away out, Only the Ringbearer and other companions that are not exhausted take the wounds!!)

Cards that would be cool to put in are:(The cards I want to put in most are numbered 1-5*)

**Evil Smelling Fens
*Gollum, Plotting Deceiver
****Ulaire Lemenya, Eternally Threatening
***Take up the Bow

Thank you for reading through my deck, I hope it did not take much of your time up. Any Feedback appreciated. I hope you found it useful and learned a bit, if not please notify me.

Good Luck!!

Looks fairly good. I’ll read it over thoroughly when I get the time.

I love it when people point out spelling errors, and then make even more mistakes themselves. Wink

I have just a few suggestions for the free peoples side to help you with your matchup weaknesses

Legolas, Woodland Emissary(Starting)
Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien(Starting)
Elrond, Witness to History x2 Lose 1 add Celeborn the Wise
Arwen, Queen of Elves and Men x2 Lose 1 add Aegnor Elven Escort
Cirdan, The Shipwright x2 lose 1 add GilGilad
Seclusion x3
Nocked x3 lose 1 add For the Mark
Many Miles x2 This card is OK but I would drop them both for an Eowyn’s Sword Dernhelm’s Blade and a Coif
Attunement x4 Lose 4 add 4 Final Shot or the Hunters pump for archer deck
Elven Marksmanship x3 lose 1 add For the Mark
Shadow Between x1
Glimpse of Fate x1 Lose 1 add For the Mark
Elven Bow x4
Legolas’ Bow x1
Hadafang x1
Brego x1

-Artifacts:(2)

Nenya, Ring of Adamant x2

Hope this helps

I’ve seen this deck posted somewhere before. It’s a good article, but I’m not sure that the deck is original. Same case with your other article.

I will wait to review both.

What about Unseen Foe in this deck? It can be nice to wound more companions during the reagroup phase.

A five? It’s the highest rating here, and hardly ever given out (except to people like AC or FM). You’re supposed to be rating the ARTICLE not just the deck... Since it seems you are new here I’ll try not to get too mad. Maybe you do think the article is really that good, but give us reasons why before giving it the highest rating.
