these are some thoughts for the cards that would be cool if they make "the Hobbit" out of cards.

Companion:
Beorn
Furocious Warrior

strength: 10
Vitality: 4
Damage: +1
card text: Beorn is strength +1 for each goblin you can spot.
regroup: exert Beorn to discard a minion.
lore: He came alone, and in bear’s shape; and he seemed to have grown almost to giant-size in his whrath.

event:
Power in his Rage

card text:
Beorn is strength +1 for each companion that is wounded. (limit 5)
And Damage +1 for each companion in your dead pile.
lore: Swiftly he returned and his wrath was doubled, so that nothing could with stand him...

condition:
Protection in His Wrath
card text: Beorn can take only one wound while you can spot only three companions.
lore: No weapon seemed to bite upon him.

just a few thoughts. what do you think? what do you think would be a few cool cards if they made "the hobbit"

Sword Master


Strength 10
Vitality 4
signate Aragorn


Aragorn is strength +2 for each hand weapon he bears (limit 2)
wound aragorn to cancle a minion's card text.
each time aragorn wins a skirmish heal him.
skirmish: exert Aragorn to make him damage +1 or enduring.


this is a super aragorn, but this is pretty awsome. Very Happy

does anyone have a any suggestions? come on everybody what do you think would be awsome for a card?

That Aragorn? He would no longer carry a signet, and a 14 stregnth Aragorn for 5 twilight (including your choice of Ranger's Sword, Ithilien Blade, Gondor Blade, et al)? Not going to happen. Secondly, the "each hand weapon borne" modifier breaks the cardinal rule of possession bearing, akin to your question from yesterday. Possession/Hand Weapon is a class, and a companion can only bear one of each class of weapon unless one of those weapons gives that companion the ability to do so, such as Knife of the Galadhrim (which, in this case, would be the only secondary weapon he could carry).

Taking into consideration that Aragorn, per Tolkien, only carried one weapon during the War of the Ring, period, there's also quite a bit of an overall acceptance issue as well. The man very nearly got himself killed off in the films both times he whipped out Celeborn's gift to him, so maybe he'd have been better off acting in the manner with which his creator made him, to only carry ONE SWORD. Wink

Two final notes- the cancelling text would be an exertion, not a wound, based on the rules the developers carry for activating context, and secondly, paying an exertion cost to grab a stregnth modifying keyword is likely to be considered a big old no-no (the enduring part).

If classes weren't what they were to the game, and had Aragorn shown (in both versions) a continual penchant for twin bladework, you could justify a boost like the Bloodlines Boromir has (exert to make him +1 for each possession). However, it doesn't work for him as shown, even with Viggo's fancy knifework in the first part of the ambush at Amon Hen.

Ok, do you have any ideas on cards. i still think this aragorn would be awsome! equip him with Anduril FOTW...*sigh*

Equip FOTW on him, and you can't give him another weapon. The "cannot bear other weapons" overrides any positive applicable text (such as Knife of the Galadhrim).

I'll come up with a card or two and put them up later on.

i got to thinking this aragorn was kind of far fetched, but i still think it would be awsome to have him. so i made a few modifacations.

that's an sweet Aragorn but he is still to good, and maybe it should be just damsge +1 or maybe just enduring not both

how is this for changing Aragorn up a bit?

i like it but i say you should make him strength +3.
