Ok, so here is the "final" list of Contestants. I WILL add any other willing Contestant UNTIL SUNDAY, but after that, well, it’s bye-bye. For those of you joining, thank you VERY much, appreciated, I’m sure we will have a lot of fun! Ok, as I said, afetr I receive your cards by PM, I’ll post the cards from ONE person each day, with the analysis (if I CAN post more, I will), so here’s the order I’ll be posting them (the order in which people signed on):

1- sickofpalantirs
2- Hazael
3- WitchKingBlkCapt
4- elf lvr
5- corvus
6- thonnas7
7- AnxiousChieftain
8- donimator
9- maxidoodle
10- Gagnut
11- CarpeGuitarrem
12- Gate Troll
13- Turin06
14- Aragorn_Elessar
15- ingold55
16- Celebrimbor
17- bobtheorc

If someone gets eliminated, I’ll just skip him, so this is the list i’ll be following in analyzing the cards.
Now, on to the rules:

General Rules:
-Each weekend, I’ll post my challenge for the week, and each contestant will then have the whole week-days to carefully plan and design his cards, and by saturday they must be in my PM Inbox here. The time you’re allowed to use MAY be altered depending on the challenge, but this will be warned in advance.
-I’ll PM each Contestan once I’ve post that week’s challenge.
-Then, the following week, each day I’ll lay out each applicants cards with in-depth analysis (that’s right, there WON’T be any voting), and grades they received for the cards.
-DO NOT REPLY to my analysis, until I finish them all, so there won’t be posts between them, making it easier to read as a whole, later.
-Be Forewarned, I won’t ask for single cards, but rather sets of cards, so be prepared!
-Rules MIGHT change slightly from one week to another, to better fit the needs of our contestants, so, well, be prepared (yes, again, that’s right, be REALLY prepared).
-After MY work, laying out analysis on the cards I evaluated, THEN you’ll be allowed to post opinions on what I’ve said about the cards, until the next round begins.
-Each one who posts (even if not a contestant) is only allowed to discuss ONE grade (even if it’s a set of cards, it’s only ONE grade of ONE card), so take your best shot where you think I went wrong.
-After 3 challenges have ellapsed, the contestant with the least total points will be utterly eliminated (so you DO have some time to recover), and the points will be reset.
-Each week, anyone who scores an average 7 on their designs will be awarded a gp by me.
-The best-rated Contestant for the round will ALSO receive a bonus gp.
-The best-rated Contestant before points are reset each time will receive a bonus 3 gp.
-The finallists (depending on how many Contestants, this number WILL vary) will receive an extra gp each.
-The winner, although not much (aside form all the fun and learning), will receive an EXTRA 5 gp, AND I’ll send by mail, as a token for taking part in my contest, a Portuguese version of The One Ring, The Ruling Ring, which is nice to have in a binder, and as a reminder of a long, and hard contest.

Now, to the Card Layout:
[Twilight cost] •(if it’s unique. if you can’t make this dot on your pc, copy this one, but USE THE DOT) Card Title, Subtitle [Culture]
Type of card • Subtype
Strength (if there is any):
Vitality (if there is any):
Resistance OR Site Number (if there is any):
Game-text
[size9]Flavor text[/size]
Rarity
PLEASE don’t miss even the spaces, or points WILL be taken.

The Standard Grading Guide (each grade ranges from 0 to 10):

Card Title (including subtitle, if any): Must be flavorful, story-entwined AND have synergy with the actual card, even if it’s just a hint.
Type of Card: Must be adequate for what was requested, or adequate for the ability itself.
Rarity: Must be adequate designed for the rarity it’s supposed to be.
Twilight Cost: Must be adequate to the card’s effect, AND meet eventual requirements.
Stats (if any): Must be adequate for the card itself, according to rarity, costs and abilities.
Abilities (if any): Must be easily realetd to the card, specially the tile (unless otherwise noted), and fit eventual requirements.
Creativity: Being innovative is cool, but be careful not to overpower or underpower a card! Go crazy, but think about what you’re doing!
Flavor Text: It’s worth extra points, and does not have to necessarily be extracts from the books, I won’t care for this at all. However, keep in mind which cards SHOULD have flavor text, and make sure it fits the card, or it may actually cost you some points.
Spelling and other Issues: Spelling errors, miswording, confusive wording, utility issues, ability issues, formatting errors, etc...
Consistance: An overall grade, when putting all these elements together and evaluating the card as a whole.
PS: Each week MAY feature different grading stats, but these will always be present.

Questions? Suggestions?
I don't like YOU.

By surviving, basically.

Are you implying that some cards shouldn’t have flavor text? I’m aware that Forth the Three Hunters! doesn’t have any, but...

There are cards that just have too much text, so you shouldn’t go and cram in flavor text. And some other cases, at your discretion.

Ok guys, get ready, this afternoon, the Contest starts to unfold itself! Stay tuned to pick up the Opening Challenge as early as possible, so you’ll have more time to work on it! Very Happy Btw, it MAY seem that I’ll start at an already hard level, but it’s not as tough as it may seem at first... Wink

Ok, sorry for the delay, I had some problems I had to take care of today, and I’ve been away from my computer all day, but I’m back, with the Opening Challenge! And, OF COURSE, as an opening challenge, it has to be memorable, AND to give a hint on what this Contest is going to be about.
For the first challenge, you’ll have to submit me a card from each type of card available (it’s up to you to figure out the number). However, these cards will ALSO have to fulfill the following criteria:
- They must be all from different "cultures";
- They must "feel" like they’re from totally different sets;
- I want no more than 3 cards from a given rarity (again, up to you to figure what this means);
- I want no more than 2 cards to have the same twilight cost.
That’s it, for the opening week. You have until Sunday morning to submit me your cards by PM, following the model I suggested above. Good luck, Contestants, go crazy as you like, you don’t have to "stay in the obvious", but be careful not to "strand away too much". Underpowered cards are as bad as (or even MORE bad than) overpowered cards!
I don't like YOU.
