Masticore is amazing. It’s darback isn’t really a drawback. You can use him with graveyard manipulation and you can also, as Felipe mentioned, use him with cards that benefit from being discarded. He’s a house against any creatures by easily being able to destroy practically any creature (sans indestructible, can’t be targetted, etc). And he easily regenerates so he is unbelievably hard to get rid of. Whats bad about him? We just gave you a bunch of reasons why he is amazing, why he is many people’s favorite card, and why the market has him valued so high. So what makes him so bad to make you think your correct and the rest of the magic community is flawed? |

Not to mention, it’s colorless, so it fits in ANY deck you might want it. And not all colors are used to having a powerful creature like that around... |

Go to www.wizards.com, and search the top right in the "Gatherer" option. Just type in Masticore. You’ll see the original one there. |

4 Masticore
4 Basking Rootwalla
4 Wild Mongrel
4 Browbeat
3 Arrogant Wurm
3 Wurm’s Roar
4 Fiery Temper
3 Violent Eruption
1 Wonder
2 Genju of the Spires
2 Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
4 Call of the Herd
4 Karplusan Forest
4 Stomping Ground
4 Barbarian Ring
3 Mossfire Valley
3 Petrified Field
4 Wooded Foothills
Outta the top of my head, I’m SURE it could be better, since I pretty much just used Masticore in a build I already had, in place of some Flametongue Kavus/Chars. |

Yeah... in general, masticore owns with hand/graveyard manipulation, it does direct damage/removal, and it has a big body. Oh yeah, and it’s tough to kill. The only other element I can see a creature haveing is evasion... this is a really full package. |
