EXCELLENT article. My only comment would be that I think Sting, Bane of the Eight Legs would be a better option for the first deck. You make a good point about it not preventing wounds, but I think it would make the deck stronger against one of its weaker points: beatdown. If one of those high-vitality, fierce minions you mentioned comes after you, at least you have one last-dtich way of getting rid of it...as long as you live long enough.
I just think having that option makes it worth it instead of Sting, Baggins Heirloom which ONLY helps against Gollum.
