In 9th ed. there is a black enchantment, called Death Pits of Rath. It says that whenever a creature is delt damage, it dies and cant be regenerated. So I built this T2 deck desinged to destroy your opponents creatures and come in to kill them. This is it:
4 Boros Recruit
4 Sparkmage Apprentice
4 Ronin Cliffrider
4 Akki Coalflinger
2 Hunted Horror
2 Lightning Elemental
4 Shock
4 First Volley
4 Death Pits of Rath
4 Diabolic Tutor
4 R/B "Shock Land"----> When it comes out.
4 Sulfurous Springs
9 Mountain
7 Swamp
Most of the creatures have First Strike to deal their damage first when attacking. When Ronin Cliffrider attacks, it deals 1 damage to ecah of your opponents creatures, killing all of them. Hunted Horror and Lighting Elemental are there for large amounts of damage. Even though Hunted Horror gives your opponent creatures, you can easily kill them with Shock or First Volley. Sparkmage Apprentice is a cheap, easy way to deal damage. Diabolic Tutor helps you search for anything needed. Sulfurous Springs and the Red and Black Shock Land (When it comes out) will help prevent mana problems. Since the deck is easily changeable, you can have a very adaptable sideboard and can maindeck better damage cards that come out in the future. This deck is just an idea I came up with and haven’t playtested. |
Remember, it's never not good to learn grammar.

Moved this post to the Deck Clinic since it's pretty much just a deck. Feel free to re-submit to the MTG Strategy Article Contest if you have more depth to add (playtesting reports, meta/matchup analysis, etc.). |

ERm... you could use neko-te as a backup in case they blow up pits, to use with cliffrider.
First volley = bad. There’s so much other stuff you could use for damage. (pyroclasm etc.) |

the problem with this deck is that so many cards in it are bad without the death pits. You have to survive until turn five and then be able to play a pits and kill all your opponents creatures by turn six to stand a chance. With so many cards that are bad on their own, it si difficult to have a winning list. |
