Then you’ve never seen a good GandyMen deck in action.
I’ve beaten Sauron in both skirmishes with Ghan-Buri-Ghan. Wink

They can get their conditions back pretty easily, too.

Although they were probably originally just to be "neat."

I would be curious to see what deck list you are using that uses gandalf men to win games, I have yet to see one myself.

Errr...you mean 12 cards total, right? But isn’t 30 the minimum? And are you advocating that Erland and Guidance be in it? Your post seems incomplete, somehow. *confused slightly* O_o

Getting off topic... Laughing

I had a good hand when I pulled it off, but it’s not that hard of a hand to get. I also had alot of setup because I use cyling Uruks. Mostly I remember my opponent’s stunned face.

Here’s the complete FP side as it was at the time:

RB: Frodo, Protected by Many with SaWtC
Starting:
Brand, KoD
Erland, DC

Alatar, FE x2
For a While Less Dark x4
Gandalf, LotC x3
Gandalf’s Staff, WS x1
G For Grand x4
Ghan-buri-Ghan x2
Grimbeorn x2
Hobbit Sword x2
Measure of Comfort x4
Narya x1
New-Awakened x1
Pallando, F-TO x2
Radagast, ToB x1
Strange Meeting x4
The Flame of Anor x1
The Terror of His Coming x3

I do remember it involved putting both Alatar and Pallando on GBG with a measure of comfort out so he got all 4 G for Grands.

6 +1(Brand) +1(Gandalf) +1(Pallando) +4(G4G) +4(Strange Meeting) +(-1)(Alatar) = 17 against 23. I had 3 of my For a While Less Dark in hand. Played 2; +8 strength; 25 vs 23. GBG wins.
Skirmish 2: same thing, except I exert Erland once to get one of the FaWLD back. If you only have 2 in hand, you can exert Erland twice.
You have to get pretty lucky to have all 8 conditions out when he shows up, to beat Sauron, but what with Guidance of the Istari, you don’t even need all those if you have enough companions.

Keep in mind that all this was long before Guidance of the Istari came out. Heck, I don’t even have GotI yet...

Awesome, thanks for the list. I shall make a deck based on yours, if you don’t mind. For play with the only friend I have who plays it here at my college. Razz

Have a gold piece for the decklist, I’m impressed. So gandalf men are kinda like ents in that you have to have them all out together.

Gandalf men are still junk in my opinion. No offense intended towards those who use them.
