This is a new set that I am making, called The Lords of Gondor. Its main culture is Gondor and it will have several cards that deal with possesions. I’ll probably just be throwing out all the cards as I make them.

A new keyword I have made is Lord: While you cannot spot a minion not assigned to a skirmish, this character is strength +2.

Well, here are some cards. Enjoy Very Happy.

•The One Ring, The Ring of Power Ring
Vitality +1
Response: If the Ring-bearer is about to take a wound, he or she wears The One Ring until the regroup phase. While the Ring-bearer is wearing The One Ring, each time he or she is about to take a wound, add a burden instead.
“’It is a gift, I say; a gift to the foes of Mordor.’”
LG R 01

2 •Ohtar, Esquire of Isildur Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Fellowship: Exert Ohtar and play a Gondor possession or Gondor artifact to draw a card.
“’...who bore the shards of the sword of Elendil...’”
LG R 02

2 •Skilled Swordplay Gondor
Condition • Support Area
To play spot a Gondor Man.
Gondor Tokens may not be removed from this condition.
Skirmish: Add a Gondor token here to discard a possession borne by a minion skirmishing a Gondor companion (limit once per phase).
At the start of the regroup phase, discard a card from the top of your draw deck for each Gondor token on this condition.
“Many Orcs lay slain, piled all about him...”
LG U 03

3 •Anduril, Narsil Reforged Gondor
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Strength +3
Bearer must be Aragorn.
He is damage +1.
Skirmish: Exert Aragorn and add 1 to exert a minion he is skirmishing.
“’The Sword shall be reforged. I will come to Minas Tirith.’”
LG R 04

1 •Archers of Gondor Gondor
Follower
Strength +1
Aid - Add a burden.
Each time you transfer this to a companion, except a Gondor companion, exert bearer.
Each time you transfer this to a companion bearing a possession, you may wound a minion.
LG U 05

3 •Boromir, Elder Son Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Lord. While Faramir is in your starting fellowship, his twilight cost is -2.
Each time Boromir wins a skirmish, you may make a Gondor companion strength +2 until the regroup phase.
“...Boromir was a man both tall and strong.”
LG R 06

3 •Faramir, Younger Son Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Lord.
Each time Faramir wins a skirmish, you may spot Boromir to wound a minion.
“...Faramir, though he was much like his brother in looks, was a man less self-regarding, both sterner and wiser.”
LG R 07

3 •Denethor, Steward of Gondor Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 8
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 5
Lord. To play spot a Gondor Man.
At the start of each of your turns, if you cannot spot both Boromir and Faramir, exhaust Denethor.
While you can spot Boromir, Denethor is strength +1.
While you can spot Faramir, Denethor is resistance +2.
LG R 08

0 Strength of Men Gondor

Make a Gondor companion strength + 2 (or +3 and damage +1 if he or she is a Lord).
LG C 09

1 Gondorian Longbow Gondor
Possession • Ranged Weapon
Bearer must be a Gondor Man.
Skirmish: Exert bearer to exert a minion skirmishing bearer (if that minion bears a possession, wound that minion instead).
”Four tall Men stood there...Two had great bows, almost of their own height”
LG U 10

1 •Green-featheredNOLINK Arrows Gondor
Possession • Support Area
Each Gondor Man bearing a ranged weapon is strength +1.
At the start of each regroup phase, exert a Gondor Man or discard this possession.

The wording should be "Once per skirmish phase". Thumbs Up I would also drop the cost to 0. Smile

The text that you gave him is actually a keyword on the forums; in this case, captain (Each time this character wins a skirmish, you may make another character of the same culture strength +2 until the regroup phase). Mr. Green

Might say: "If you resolve this companion’s skirmish first, this companion is strength +2."

Bold the response action. Pretty generic, the only difference between this one and the other generic one is vitality +1 instead of strength +1. Not bad.

I’d change his fellowship ability to include "Limit twice per phase".

Not bad, might consider making it unique. I’d also have the second sentence say: "Each time you transfer this to a Gondor companion bearing a possession, you may wound a minion."

Not bad. I’d give him a drawback if he loses a skirmish such as: "Each time Boromir loses a skirmish, make another Gondor companion strength -2 until the regroup phase."

How about, ’If you can spot no minions that are not assigned to a skirmish, this character is strength +2’? Only issue comes with the early Sarumans or minions that are prevented from fighting with the faithful stone (but that’s broken so no one cares). That could be interesting as it would continue to apply if you kill the minions you’re fighting in each case (though it may not be what you want).

I’d use this one. Like the ring of rings but a useful vitality bonus.

Really really cool idea, but in each case it should say Gondor token. Also, is there away to discard this card before it kills you? Maybe it should be built on?

As someone already said, it’s a little silly to have an exertion ability if it makes him wound the guys lots anyway. It should add +1 vitality as well (or +3 strength instead) and maybe recycle Gondor possessions instead, or something.

Should say Gondor possession possibly. I’m not sure gondor should have burdens as an aid cost, it just doesn’t feel right to me. Maybe an exertion, or a threat, or just loads of twilight? Also, I think it should cost 2 at least.

Really hard. I’m a big fan of Boromirs with resistance 5, and maybe this one is good enough to warrant it.

My problem with Lord is that it currently doesn’t work that well if you have more than one of them. I can see a nice combo with Boromir winning first, making Faramir harder so you can kill off minions, but I’d still like to be able to use Faramir’s lord as well. Nevertheless, a nice Faramir. It’d be cool if you could start off with both in your starting fellowship...

GP for the nice ideas.

Personally AP, I would leave Denethor as he is. He costs more that most Denethors do, and he has a big drawback if you cannot spot Boromir or Faramir. Bur that’s just my 2 cents.
