Ok. I’m thinking about attending the TOC in Seattle on May 20th, and you guys have got me scared to death about the culture. I haven’t faced any of these NPE combos that lem0nhead and others are talking about. So my question is simple: what is the best Standard solution for it? X-listing is fine, but it won’t help me in the here and now. |

Well currently apart from packing mass condition removal theres not a whole lot you can do about it. Theres a couple of cards in T&D so again no use to you. Balin Avenged might stop the orcs but its a crud way to have to counter it. Youre going to have to play elves or gandalf or BRC but the whole hinge of the problem is getting back the smith. Good luck with that yerka as i cant see a solution.
You can get round lurker swarm with always threatening using fighting frodo rb as eowyn and into the caves removes lurker so cant do anything. The only way to stop trolls keyward in the troll swarm combo is exert with great day great hour or shadowplay.

Balin Avenged is a good counter, but its to specific. You can’t put it in just any deck.
Wound prevention with massive strength would be the best way to go. I recommend a refuge rainbow with Woodland Onod and Glamdring, Orc-Beater + 20 or so companions. Oh yeah, and inspiration.
Don’t even worry about condition discarding. It won’t do a thing with the Smith out there. |

Or Coif! I guess Rush of Steeds is also another way. Use a Rohan fighting RB Frodo deck! |

Unles your condition discarding is 4x namarie, that would stop the orkish lackey, goblin hordes, forced march and always threatening.
Play rumil, silvan elf, orophin, silvan elf, aragorn, thorongil, 4 elven guardian, legolas, of the woodland realm, this should give you enough token on namarie to wipe the table clean so he won’t be able to use the goblin hordes to get the orkish smith back.
This will also be good against lost in the woods, legolas is good against hunters and the direct wounding should be enough to stop decks like bill ferny or troll’s keyward, keeper of the beast. |
