--- description ---
Its finally here! My Rohan/Gondor wounding deck with Forestguls!
--- end description ---
All right, I finally built the deck and printed off several fake cards to use instead of the real deals. BTW, I’m still trading for cards I don’t have.
Anyway. This deck played every single FP card and shadow condition by site 5, leaving nothing but Nazgul in the deck.
Here it is!
Gimli, Bearer of Grudges
The One Ring, The Ring of Rings
Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien
Gamling, Defender of the Hornburg
Aragorn, Driven by Need x 2
Madril, Ranger of Ithilien x 2
Faramir, Son of Denethor x 2
Isildur, Heir of Elendil x 2
Hrethel, Rider of Rohan
Eomer, Rohirrim Captain
Rider’s Spear x 3
Riddermark Javelin x 4
Rider’s Mount x 2
Brego
Rohirrim Mount
Faramir’s Sword
Aragorn’s Bow, Ranger’s Longbow
Sword Rack x 3
Thundering Host
We Left None Alive
Last Days of My House x 4
Delving x 4
Ulaire Nelya, Third of the nine Riders x 4
Black Rider x 4
Ulaire Toldea, Black Shadow x 4
Ulaire Cantea, Black Assassin x 3
Ulaire Nertea, Messenger of Dol Guldur
Ulaire Nertea, Ninth of the Nine Riders
Ulaire Lemenya, Assailing Minion
Ulaire Enquea, Black Threat x 2
Ulaire Otsea, Duplicitous Specter x 2
The Witch-King, Captain of the Nine Riders x 2
Dark Approach x 4
The Master’s Will
Lost in the Woods x 3
Moving This Way x 4
Hatred Stirred
The Angle
Woody End
Buckland Homestead
Expanding Marshland
Hill of Sight
Caras Galadhon
The Prancing Pony
Trollshaw Forest
Old Forest Road
Grab Madril and rule the sitepath with the FP. Or if you can’t do that, control it with the shadow. Either way, get your forests out.
If you don’t get Moving this Way, mulligan. Try to get Moving this Way ASAP.
Abuse Moving This Way. Whenever you get a Nazgul, send it to the bottom of your deck, except Cantea and Nelya, abuse them as much as possible. When you use Gamling, grab cards towards the bottom of your deck. Don’t use Hatred Stirred until you’re set up.
Last Days of My House basically plays two cards instead of one, Gamling is a duh for filtering, Delving cycles well, everything hits the table as soon as you pull it. Or if not, then it gets chucked by Eomer.
Finally, you should have cycled through your entire deck leaving only Nazgul. Use Dark Approach to play Ulaire Lemenya, AM, Grab it with another Dark Approach / Toldea, Dark Approach Otsea to draw cards, cycle through, play an Ulaire Nertea, Messenger of Dol Guldur to grab a Nelya or Cantea, or if your opponent abides by the rule of 5, grab a different Nertea. Play Nelya, swap out for the Angle, and play as many Black Riders as possible to draws cards. Finally, toil the Witch-King and Enquea. Once a couple Nazzies hit the RB, Lost in the Woods = almost certain death.
Any thoughts here? |

Looks really good!
I love the synergy of threats in the fellowship, with Gimli, Aragorn, and his bow.
I run filtering, and (in a different deck) a altered nazzie swarm-type thing, so I know how well this sort of thing works.
GP for a great deck. |

Great deck, but I don’t see the gimli working all that well. Resistance 7 is the best you can manage, and you only get 2 exertions for Delving without healing, and the threats could get you in trouble. Unfortunately, if you want to draw cards in the fellowship phase, I can’t think of a single better way to do it!
With aragorn’s threat removal, I might consider calculated risk instead of some delvings, so at least gimli doesn’t have to exert, but that’s all I can suggest.

Not a Riddermark Javelin. They make the deck tick. I need all four of them.
Hm...how many Rider’s Mounts do I have?
EDIT: I know. I’ll fix it now.
Also, I played the deck and got a crummy draw, no Moving this Way till site 3, no Nelya till site 5. Once I got Nelya, however, everything fell into place. I swarmed at site 9, after knifing a few ents with Cantea. I love this deck, pathetic draws and it still works! |

But it doesn’t need HIDAN. Seriously, I’ve played this deck three times now and I’ve yet to have to use strength to resolve a skirmish, Eowyn usually kills everyone.
EDIT: Name changed. Something else that unites Rohan and Gondor. Happy? |
