Well, seeing as how LOTR is dead, it’s about time we make some new formats to keep things new and exciting. I personally only play movie block and standard, if someone could clue me into some other fun formats that would be great.

Anything helps,

I’ve tried some pretty weird things.

27-site games.

Partnered games.

3-per-team games

3-6 team games

Don’t ask how this has worked.

Same here...

Switch side games (Shadow cards as Free Peoples and vice versa) - actually that might work as a 27-site game...

Full side games (4+ even number of players, half use a deck of only Shadow, half use only Free Peoples) - haven’t actually tried, but could also work as teams

Open Middle-earth (Cards always active, and unique cards unique for both/all players) - best as 2 player, The One Ring is transfered back and forth... Still working details out
Our time here is ending...

What did you want to see before the end?
It will be made in the Request-a-card Set #1 (name ideas also welcome Smile).

I remember there once was a thread about playing LOTR over the phone. I am trying to get corvus to play with me over IM sometime.

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

It’s only dead to those who aren’t playing it anymore. Wink

My player group one time did randomization drawings to see who has to use which cultures, and make a deck out of only THOSE cultures. It was very interesting, to try and make a Men/Orc/Gollum deck that worked. Razz That’s an option for you, it might even challenge your deck-making abilities.

Want to know what this is.

Making up your own format would be cool.

What about agreeing before hand which sets to completely ban and which to keep in a game?

I would just construct my own X and R list.
