If I had an alternate Ring-bearer text along the lines of "each time the fellowship moves, wound 2 other companions or add 2 threats", and I used him solo, what would happen once I moved? Since he’s the only companion, I obviously can’t wound two other companions, and I can only add 1 threat. Would I add a threat the first time I moved and then just ignore the drawback the rest of the game (assuming I still had that threat out there)?

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Ooo tricky one Dain. I think you would have to add the threat then ignore the rest after that. Cos if smeagol cant spot an unbound companion you dont have to place one in the dead pile so if you cant spot the other companion you cant wound them. I would agree with you then Dain. Add 1 threat then do nothing! I take it this is related to my DC contest....

Yes, you have to do as much as u can to respect the gametext,so u add a treath the 1st time and u fullfilled the gametext penalty

What ever makes you say that? Angel

Thanks, guys. That’s what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. GP to you both.

Okay, a completely different question....

If a companion has the text "each time this companion takes a wound", does this include exertions? For example, if my Dwarf bore Well-Crafted Armor, which has the text "each time bearer takes a wound, you may reinforce a Dwarven token", would I have the option of reinforcing if I exerted that Dwarf with, say, The Fortunes of Balin’s Folk? Or would I only have the option of reinforcing when my Dwarf took an actual "wound"?

When you exert, you don’t take a wound. When you exert, you’ll get a wound token, but it doesn’t trigger cards that say "when you take a wound". And the opposite is true; when you get wounded, you don’t get to trigger cards like Steward’s Legacy.

Yeah DI, AC is right its one of the oldest and most clarified rules. Exertions are not wounds and can never be classed the same. Once the token is placed the companion has a wound token like AC says, but for the purpose of the relevant action it was an exertion not a wound.
