I understand what you may think with the above sentence: "Smeagol’s got 0 resistance, he’s auto-corrupted after he gets the ring!" That’s not the case, since burdens are removed after Frodo dies. So unless you’re using Smeagol, Simple Stoor or the opponent has resistance-lowering cards on Smeagol, it works.

Bearer must be a Hobbit.
Limit 1 per bearer.
Upkeep - Bearer must have won a skirmish this turn. (At the start of the regroup phase, bearer must have won a skirmish this turn or discard this condition.)

Resistance: 8
Ring-bound. Bilbo is strength +1 for each unwounded Hobbit you can spot.
Fellowship: Remove 2 Shire tokens to take a card into hand from your discard pile that has "Firework" in the lore or card title of that card.

0Forthcomming Disaster Shire

If you can spot 4 or more threats at the end of any phase, discard this condition.
At the start of the regroup phase, you may exert a companion who has the Smeagol signet twice to examine the top 4 cards of a Shadow player’s draw deck. Place on the bottom of that Shadow player’s draw deck any cards examined that match the culture of a card you can spot and add a threat for each such card.

1Serving the Master Shire

Each time a Shire companion who has the Smeagol signet wins a skirmish, you may add a Shire token here.
Assignment: Remove 2 Shire tokens from here and spot Smeagol to assign a minion to Smeagol. That minion is strength -2 and cannot use skirmish special abilities during a skirmish involving Smeagol until the regroup phase.
"We swore to serve the master of the precious!"

0 Had Another Name Shire
Event • Regroup
Spot Smeagol to heal a Shire companion who has the Smeagol signet.
"You used to be called Smeagol, didn’t you?"

4 Neverending Marshland Shire
Condition • Support Area
When you play this condition, you may exert Frodo, Sam, or Smeagol to make this condition twilight cost -X, where X is the current region number.
While the fellowship is at a site, that site gains marsh.
Regroup: Exert Smeagol and spot 2 Shire companions who have the Smeagol signet to play the fellowship’s next site (That site must be a marsh).
Festering, stinking mudpools as far as the eye could see.

2 Pity Shire

Spot Frodo and Smeagol to heal both. Then, you may reinforce a Shire or Gollum token.
"Now that you mention it...I do pity him."

Site Number: 4
While Saruman is assigned to a skirmish, each other Isengard minion is strength +1.
Skirmish: Exert Saruman to make an aggressive Isengard minion strength +2.
At the start of the regroup phase, you may exert Saruman to pay the cost of an upkeep on your Isengard card.

Works well with lurkers, and with aggressive minions. Sweet card!

I don’t really have anything new to say about the Isengard cards, but I see no one’s reviewed the Ring yet, so....

Ring The One Ring, Ash Ring

Response: If bearer is about to take a wound in a skirmish, he or she wears The One Ring until the end of the turn.
While wearing The One Ring, if bearer is about to take a wound, add a burden and 1 instead.
Regroup: If wearing The One Ring, exert the ring-bearer to reveal the top 5 cards of the Shadow player’s draw deck. Discard a Shadow card revealed. Replace the rest of those cards in the same order.

Should be "each time the Ring-bearer is about to take a wound" instead of "if bearer is about to take a wound", I think.

This is a very interesting Ring. That regroup ability is very powerful, to be sure, but I still think you could eliminate the resistance -1 and be okay, since there’s 1 added with each burden.

Make sure to capitalize "Ring-bearer", but otherwise this is really, really neat. Thumbs Up I LOVE the upkeep thing: mind if I borrow that for my sets? Angel

Early mustering. Good call.

Yay for weather cards! I think it should be "Upkeeps on Free Peoples conditions cannot be payed while the fellowship is at this site.

Awesome pump. You MIGHT even be able to get away with it costing 1.

Neat, but I think he should either have 4 strength or cost 2.

Because I didn’t see this thread earlier, now you have to endure my reviews on all of the cards so far spoiled!

I disagree with Dain - the response action should say ’If the Ring-bearer...’. If it wasn’t a response, it would be each time, but then you also wouldn’t have a choice in the matter. Interesting.

4 Vile Savage Isengard
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 9
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 5
Damage +1. Aggressive. (Skirmishes involving aggressive minions must be resolved before any others.)
Vile Savage is strength +1 for each other Isengard minion assigned to a skirmish.

Nice and simple. Like the lurker stuff. Messing with assignment is always fun!

2 Driven by Hate Isengard
Condition • Support Area
Upkeep - Discard an Isengard card from hand. (At the start of the regroup phase, you must discard an Isengard card from hand or discard this condition.)
Each aggressive Isengard minion is strength +1.

Cool. Upkeep is a bit of a rubbish title though, it reminds me too much of the later star wars cards, when Decipher went through their broken phase just before losing the lisence. Where have I heard that one before?

1 Deadly Foes Isengard
Event • Skirmish
Make an Isengard minion strength +2 (Or +4 if that minion is aggressive).

Simple. I’d be tempted to make it like violent hurl, but it’s your choice.

3 Amon-hen Runner Isengard
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 9
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 5
Damage +1. Aggressive. (Skirmishes involving aggressive minions must be resolved before any others.)

Fine.

4Saruman, Sauron’s Puppet Isengard
Minion • Wizard
Strength: 8
Vitality: 4
Site Number: 4
While Saruman is assigned to a skirmish, each other Isengard minion is strength +1.
Skirmish: Exert Saruman to make an aggressive Isengard minion strength +2.
At the start of the regroup phase, you may exert Saruman to pay the cost of an upkeep on your Isengard card.

I object to the subtitle a little bit, but whatever. You should be able to word it so that ’... you may exert Saruman to pay the upkeep cost of an Isengard card.’ Nice.

2 •[b]Consorting with the Eye
Isengard
Condition • Support Area
Strength: -1
Resistance: -1
To play, spot an Isengard wizard.
If a burden is added, transfer this condition from your support area to a companion (Except the ring-bearer).
Bearer gains: Upkeep - Discard a card from hand. (At the start of the regroup phase, you must discard a card from hand or discard this companion.)

The transferring thing needs to either be a response action or an ’each time’ thing. Hilarious, but somewhere you should specify that it’s the Free Peoples player who needs to pay the upkeep, it’s not clear from the keyword at all.

3 Brood Pit Master Isengard
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 8
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 5
Damage +1. When you play this minion, you may discard a card from hand to draw a card.

Compare to watchman uruk. Is this guy worth it?

4 Wizard’s Wrath Isengard
Condition
Toil 1. Weather. To play, spot an Isengard Uruk-hai. Plays on a site.
Each companion loses all keywords and cannot gain keywords at this site. Upkeeps on Free Peoples conditions cannot be payed at this site.

Nice, weather! Why the hell does this spot an Uruk to play? It’s even called ’WIZARD’S Wrath’! Specify that it exempts race, card type and culture, otherwise great card!

1 Number is Too Great Isengard
Event • Skirmish
Exert X Isengard Uruk-hai to make an Isengard Uruk-hai strength +X.

Fun. Maybe to make an Isengard minion strength +X. Plus, all the old Isengard cards just said ’Uruk-hai’. Is there a particular reason you’ve specified all of them by culture?

1 Orthanc Whelp Isengard
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength: 5
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 5
Damage +1. At the start of the regroup phase, you may discard this minion to pay the cost of an upkeep on your Isengard card.

Very nice, but a 1 cost Uruk is very very nasty. Possibly make it more like uruk savage, ie. increase vitality to 3 and cost to 2 and leave the text as is.

Nice stuff. I look forward to more.
