At each turn of the road there were great standing stones that had been carved in the likeness of men, huge and clumsy-limbed, squatting cross-legged with their stumpy arms folded on fat bellies. Good, though you *might* want to consider making it an artifact.

Exert a and a Man to discard each wounded minion. If you move again this turn, the shadow player may discard X free peoples cards from hand to draw X cards.
No power or terror was left in them; but Merry gazed at them with wonder and a feeling almost of pity, as they loomed up mournfully in the dusk.
Looks good.

Spot a man to choose one: add to reinforce 2 tokens, add to play the fellowship’s next site, or add to liberate a site.

Maybe make it spot Aragorn/unique Gondor man?
Question: is "The Path Appointed" a subtitle, or part of the normal title? It seems sorta odd on an event. Could make it a condition that you discard to in Fellowship or Regroup to get the effect, and to play spot a man, or whatever.

AD is right needs to be an artifact and also has no relevance to what they actually are. They were wrought by people and have didly squat to do with gandalf men and little with rohan. Needs to be gondorian.
EDIT: I see Dain’s point about the woses but still not relevant enough.

I dont think after 2 exertions this needs to cost 3 and/or the shadow getting such good ability.

I understand why you did Men, since that’s where Ghan-buri-Ghan appears. Artifact WOULD be nifty....

Lem0n’s right: you could bring the cost down some here. Make sure to capitalize "Free Peoples" and "Shadow".

Maybe allow this for any companion, since it’s pretty clearly Wraith-focused. |

make it add 2 for all IMHO
then you could just make it cost 2 and choose one of the following |

Could easily cost or even with that double exertion. And perhaps an artifact, but not necessarily. And perhaps it should be and work for ALL Men so that includes the Woses, the Rohirrim and the Gondorian-makers (though then perhaps it should cost ).

DI’s right about capitalisations. And compare to Up on the High Airs, which is the same cost, 1 exertion, discards each minion without a catch. Definitely the cost needs to be brought down or the effect made better.

I’d swap them around a little. I think should be , should probably be and could be with reinforcing 3 tokens. But, I still love this theme!

*Hirgon, Errand-Rider
Companion * Man
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Knight. Ranger.
While you can spot a captain, Hirgon is strength +1 and damage +1.
Response: If a Shadow event is played in a skirmish involving a companion, exert Hirgon to cancel that event.
The man was a stranger, though as like to Boromir as if he were one of his kin, tall and grey-eyed and proud.
Helm of the Silver Star
Possession * Helm
Vitality: +1
Resistance: +1
Bearer must be a knight.
If a shadow card adds a burden, discard Helm of the Silver Star.
...on the front of his helm was wrought a small silver star. |

I’d just say "discard this possession," and "shadow" needs to be capitalized. Good card! |

Fate Before, Fear Behind
Event * Fellowship
Tale.
Spot a Man to choose one: add to return a possession from your discard pile to hand, add to return a follower from your discard pile to hand, or add to make each valiant companion gain hunter 1 until the regroup phase.
Forth rode the king, fear behind him, / fate before him. Fealty kept he; / oaths he had taken, all fulfilled them.
You knew it was coming.
*Dernhelm, Dread Rider
Companion * Man
Strength: 8
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Valiant.
When you play Dernhelm, discard Eowyn. Eowyn may not be played.
When you play Dernhelm, you may play Eowyn’s Sword on him from your draw deck or discard pile, ignoring bearer requirements.
Skirmish: Exert Dernhelm to cancel a skirmish involving an unbound hobbit. Any shadow player may remove to prevent this.
"’Where will wants not, a way opens,’ so we say," he whispered; "and so I have found myself."
Pointless? Maybe. But it was fun to make. |
