Ring-bearer:
Frodo, weary from the journey
the one ring, the ring of doom
sitepath:
rivers, underground and mountains ONLY
Starting Fellowship:
Sam, Great elf warrior
bilbo, aged ring-bearer
smeagol, simple stoor
Fellowship:
there’s another way x4
herbs and stewed rabbit x4
connected by fate x4
nasty x4
clever hobbits x2
duality x4
naked waste x4
release them x4
Deagol, fateful finder x4
Shadow side:
Gollum, her sneak
gollum, dark as darkness
gollum, hopeless
gollum, threatening guide
shelob, menace x3
web x2
slippery as fishes x4
chasm’s edge x4
hidden even from her x2
final strike x2
plotting
deceit x2
not easily avoided x4
incited x2
captured by the ring x3
sting of shelob
Strategy:
bid 2 to let your opponent go first, and play all your sites to get gollum to a ridiculously high strenght. Not easily avoided makes the deck what it is, bringing either gollum or shelob to a +2 strenght for each card you discard... but since there are only cards in the draw deck, you are able to win each of your skirmishes, and then take back wahtever card you need with incited. the 4 different gollum is to get different strategies. Gollum, dark as darknes if you need pool (sting of shelob anyone?) gollum, threatening guide if you have plotting, gollum, her sneak for his fierce, strenght +2 auto play from the discard pile ability and gollum, hopeless against tanked up ring-bearer. Shelob has a nice ability in case you want to play gollum threatening guide in your skirmish phase (discard him to get a +2 on shelob and some other cards to make sure she’ll win).
What you guys think of this deck? |

I would suggest going Solo Smeagol for the Free Peoples. It would allow the Free Peoples side to have a bigger chance of winning, since right now it looks very weak.

I don’t think it is in fact, sam is strenght 7, frodo can be 8, sam can take the ring, smeagol is a monster, naked wast pumps anyone, and release them prevents a hobbit from being overhwelmed unless he is trippled, duality chokes the pool so the FP side survives for quite a few sites. |

It’s good, but I don’t think you need x4 Slippery as fishes, I think you could use another Deceit. |

He needs teh Slippery ad FIshes, the whole point of the deck is SLippery as Fishes and Chasm’s Edge to make Gollum a monster. I like the deck, I designed a version of this using Gollum, Stinker in expanded, but this is a cool version. I would have some So Polite to add twilight to get out some guys.
Nice overall, I would consider adding some wounding, like Promise Keeping and Not this Time, threats will be triggering anyway, so the extra wounding will be helpful.
Solo-Smeagol would be a good deck to run with this.
All in all, good deck. I like the idea. |
