The strategy with the FP is to heal, wound, cycle, etc. Lose initiative to do a bunch of mean things, multiple times. Refuge heals, everything else is rather straightforward. Cycle like mad with Smallburrow, Madril, Gandalf.
Try to have 5 cards in your hand. Lose initiative with Smallburrow, regain it. Wound a minion, remove a burden, discard a condition, make a minion str -4. Use Madril to discard two cards from hand to wound a minion, using Faramir’s Text. Wound a minion, remove a burden, discard a condition, make a minion str -4. You should have three cards in hand. Using Gandalf, draw a card and discard a card from hand. Wound a minion, remove a burden, discard a condition, make a minion str -4. Use Gloin to beat up the strength lowered minion, wound a minion, remove a burden, discard a condition, make a minion str -4. Send Pippin to you hand, preferably during Aragorn’s skirmishing a roaming minion, and discard two cards with Madril. Wound a minion, remove a burden, discard a condition, make a minion str -4. Anything you needed to wound with Legolas or Aragorn gets fixed with Hearts Raised.
The Shadow runs swarm/beatdown. Conquered Halls rocks absolutely, but not as evil as Barrage. Toil it for free, and you make ALL your minions huge, and that’s in a swarm. But basically, Frenzied Orc is the kicker, he’s the beatdown guy, and a couple of these out usually means death to a couple comps, if you have enough swarming minions. He’s also evil against 6 comps, and if you can get enough minions out, that means dangerously weak RB, after he scores his kill. (which, vs a str -4 companion, is pretty likely).
There it is. My infamous SdA kill deck. With it, I’ve only failed to win one game, and that was a draw in which it was a coin toss whether I’d win or not. |

I added a little more strategy on the FP. You can easily lose initiative 5 times in a turn.
I’m pulling Eowyn for Gloin, Son of Groin.
Losing initiative 5 times...that’s plain evil. Oh, BTW, if they pull out Some Secret Art of Flame, More Unbearable, etc, you can just lose initiative with it, to discard said condition with Brooding on Tomorrow. Wound a minion, remove a burden, make a minion str -4...you get the drill. |

Good point. Using the smith with hordes is such a bad experience for players. Makes condition removal pointless. |
