Okay, made some tweaks to the last two and also went back and tweaked Saruman after Thran’s review.

0The Palantír of Orthanc, Dangerous Tool Isengard
Artifact • Support Area
Palantír. To play, spot Saruman (or 2 Isengard minions).
When you play this artifact, add an Isengard token here for each artifact you can spot.
Shadow: Remove an Isengard token from here to make a player draw a card or discard a card at random from hand. Limit three times per phase.
At the start of each regroup phase, you may spot an Isengard minion and remove a threat to add an Isengard token here.
“‘Why should we fear to use it?’”

I agree with lem0n, it needs to have palantir as a keyword if it isn’t the subtype (I did a similar thing with my shadow palantiri - in fact, you stole my subtitle!). Interesting, but it seems a bit out of theme with all other palantirs as none of them have tokens on them. But, it could certainly become an interesting theme.

It’s been a while since I posted more than two new cards at a time, but today, we’re going to go all out and double that with some Isengard anti-Wizard cards. Gandalf and Radagast are in hot water now if Saruman hits the table...just as it always should have been. Twisted Evil Enjoy!

2 Radagast the Simple! Isengard
Event • Shadow
Exert Saruman twice to discard Radagast. The Free Peoples player may wound his or her Wizard three times (or two times if that player can spot 2 Free Peoples Wizards) to prevent this.
“‘Radagast the Fool! Yet he had just the wit to play the part that I set him....’”

This one’s designed in the same vein as old-school cards like Can You Protect Me From Yourself? (exhaust Aragorn), Such A Little Thing (wound Boromir x3), Terrible As the Dawn (wound Galadriel x3), and Too Great and Terrible (wound Gandalf x2). Very specific, yes, but remember that Radagast is VERY big in this set, with 2 versions and about 10 other FP cards that directly reference him. So this could be a major deterant in the way that those others were back in the day.

3An Evil Plight Isengard
Condition • Support Area
Maneuver: Exert Saruman and discard this condition to choose one: spot a Wizard companion you have captured to exert each unbound companion; or spot a wounded Wizard companion or ally to exhaust that Wizard.
“‘Gandalf the Grey caught like a fly in a spider’s treacherous web!’”

1 Won Over to Treachery Isengard
Event • Response
Spell.
If a Wizard takes a wound, spot Saruman (or an Isengard minion and 3 threats) to wound another Wizard.
“‘...I feared, as Saruman no doubt intended, that Radagast had also fallen.’”

2The Way of Pain Isengard
Condition • Support Area
Spell. To play, spot Saruman and either a Wizard companion or 6 companions.
At the start of each turn, the Free Peoples player must exert a Wizard companion or ally or discard a card at random from hand.
“‘I gave you the chance of aiding me willingly....’”

1 No Longer White Isengard
Event • Response
If a companion exerts, exert your Isengard Wizard to exert that companion (or wound that companion if it is a Wizard).
“‘White! It serves as a beginning. White cloth may be dyed. The white page can be overwritten; and the white light can be broken.’”

This one is a mirror image of the Gandalf card No Longer Concealed, which does the same for minions.

Interesting, the cancel effect is weird as the others never punished the actual target of the card in this case radagast. Alright though. Cant see how radagast the simple is a spell. Id drop that keyword it just aint appropriate even though you need spells.

I know, though it helps to have Gandalf (or Curunír, Head of the White Council from the previous set Lasting Alliances) around, as they can take the wounds instead of Radagast (and take less wounds, at that).

I dropped spell. You’re right...it doesn’t really belong here. There will be others, though. Twisted Evil

There is a little capturing with Isengard, but later. And it will be difficult for them to capture someone like Gandalf...their capturing will be more Hobbit-focused, since they DID snag Merry and Pippin later.

Thanks for the review! Have a bonus GP for being so faithful about it. Thumbs Up

Take out the option for the Orcs, this is a Saruman card. Also take out the brackets because it makes the card unnecessarily ungroggable. Also I would change the effect to discarding any wizard, as cards like terrible as the dawn were never used except for that brief period before lady redeemed was X-listed, and it’s just not that useful.

Also take out the non-Saruman option, especially since it’s overcomplicated. Nice otherwise.

This card doesn’t seem much good at Wizard-hate as the FP player can always choose to discard a card, which simply helps them cycle. Maybe if you can spot a Wizard they have to exert, or maybe the Shadow player should choose which effect, or maybe there should be one effect that only comes into play if you can spot a Wizard.

Interesting... this is actually better for decks with Wizards, because any other deck would have to discard a random card. If you wanted it to be more Wizard-specific, you could have it word like this:

"At the start of each turn, you may exert a Wizard companion. The Free Peoples player may discard a card at random from hand to prevent this."

...or something similar. Just depends on what you want to get out of the card. Either way, it looks nice.
