Now onto some fun, yet slightly weird cards:
• Laketown Swordsmen
Companion • Man
Str: 5
Vit: 4
Res: 6
To play, spot 2 Men.
At the start of the maneuver phase, you may discard a card from hand to Unlock this companion until the regroup phase.
Locked: Each time you discard a card from your hand, you may make this companion strength +1 until the regroup phase.
Before long they could see.. men of the Lake armed as if for war...
H2 R 74
• The Master, Ruler of Lake-town
Companion • Man
Str: 6
Vit: 3
Res: 5
Each other Man’s twilight cost is -1.
While you have no cards in hand, each other Man is strength +2.
’In the Lake-town we have always elected masters from the old and wise, and have not endured the rule of mere fighting men.’

Wow he has potential to be insanely good. No idea whether he is balanced. I think i would have to use him in a real game before i could decide.

SoP, his ability only works if he is Unlocked, so you have to discard a card first, then he gets a bonus for each subsequent card you discard.

Pairs very nicely with the guy above, obviously. I’m tempted to say he costs too much, but he’s probably fine. Maybe give him muster, if you’re using it...? |

Now you’ve seen some of the cards, here are the Lakemen stuff to work with them:
Long Quays
Event • Skirmish
Make a Man skirmishing a minion strength +2 for each wound on that minion.
It was not built on the shore... but right out on the surface of the lake...
H2 C 76
Trade and Tolls
Event • Skirmish
Discard a possession borne by a Man to exert a minion.
They still throve on the trade that came up the great river from the South and was carried past the falls to their town...
H2 U 84
Calm Bay
Event • Archery
Spot a Man to make any number of companions lose archer until the regroup phase. Then you may add [X] to make X minions lose archer until the regroup phase.
Bilbo had never imagined that any water that was not the sea could look so big.
H2 C 58
Wooden Bridge
Event • Maneuver
Spot a Man to choose one: add a threat to play a condition from your discard pile; or heal a minion to play an possession from your discard pile.
A great bridge made of wood ran out to where on huge piles made of forest trees was built a busy wooden town...

I really dont understand this. I would just say ill make none of my gandalf men lose archer and then remove all the shadow archers. Do you mean X companions? If so; cool. Otherwise daft.

The point of this is that if your strategy is built on healing minions, if they all die due to archery that doesn’t help you much. This card is so that you can limit your archery to whatever you wish and then limit your opponent’s at a cost.
I’ve changed Trade and Tolls according to your suggestion.
