Bearer must be a or Man.
When you play Ferny’s Pipe, you may discard a pipeweed.
Each time the Free Peoples player assigns bearer to a skirmish, he or she must add or discard a card from hand. If bearer is Bill Ferny, the Free Peoples player must do this twice.
“He was smoking a short black pipe. As they approached he took it out of his mouth and spat.”
Shouldnt it be rephrased must repeat this?
Swarthy and Sneering
Event • Skirmish
Make a companion skirmishing a or Man strength -2 (or -3 if that Man is unique).
“He had heavy black brows, and dark scornful eyes; his large mouth curled in a sneer.”
Still think its harsh against RB’s, take enduring evil for example you have to work for that and get burdens. Here its for nothing, just slap bang minus strength.

I checked, and I think you’re right. I was using the wording of cards like A Host Avails Little and His Golden Shield, but it looks as though newer cards like Death They Cried, Trap Is Sprung, and Dark Fell About Him use the wording you recommended. So, consider it changed!

How about if I take the cost back to and make it work only on unbound companions? Would that work? |

Yeah probably but that means its not playable against rb rangers for no apparent reason just exclude the rb if you can. |

Even better.
Keep in mind that R-B rangers aren’t the only R-B companions I have, either. Remember this controversial condition?
•Hold To Your Purpose
Condition • Support Area
If Frodo is the Ring-bearer, each companion with the Frodo signet is Ring-bound.
“‘The Ring-bearer is setting out on the Quest of Mount Doom....May the blessings of Elves and Men and all Free Folk go with you.’”
But anyway, I’ll change it to just the RB. In this case, you’re right, it doesn’t make much sense to exclude other R-B companions. In some OTHER cases, of course, it does, which is why R-B rangers and Hold To Your Purpose-ed companions can be so useful. |

Okay, I know this is a thread, but as you’ve noticed lately, there’s a goodly amount of in these evil Men of Bree as well.
Now I’ve blurred the lines even more. I’ve taken heed one of Thran’s suggestions and will be creating a handful of new cards where the Nazgûl will work with these new Men a bit. I’ve also gone back and changed the culture of two of the Men cards from to : the minion Shadowy Bree-lander (whose burden-spotting seems more up the Nazgûl alley anyway) and the event Enemies All Around (which spots a Nazgûl, so it made sense to me).
As for the other new ones, since they’re both , I have revived my OLD The Road Ahead Wraith thread and put them in there. There WILL be a few more cards here, so don’t start ignoring this thread entirely. There might just be nothing new for a couple days. |

Each time the Free Peoples player puts on or takes off The One Ring, you may take a or Man into hand.
“He came forward into the firelight; but most of the company backed away, even more perturbed than before.”

Exert a minion (except an enduring minion) or Man to reveal the Free Peoples player’s hand. He or she must either discard a Free Peoples card revealed or add a burden.

I’d specify "from your discard pile."

Underpowered compared to Bound To Its Fate. I’d drop the exertion or drop the cost. |
I had to put something here. |

I actually intended for it to be "from play". Should I specify that? |

Fine but what use is it? Id make it cost 0.

Fine but its unlikely they wont have a freeps card during the shadow phase so its unlikely get the burden.
