1 Give It To Me! Sauron
Event • Regroup
Exert a Sauron minion to exert a companion bearing a Sauron condition. If that companion cannot exert, add a burden instead.
“‘If any mortals have claim to the Ring, it is the men of Númenor, and not Halflings. It is not yours save by unhappy chance. It might have been mine. It should be mine.’”

Awesome love it.

2 Taken By Madness Sauron
Event • Skirmish
Make a companion skirmishing a Sauron or Wraith minion strength -2 for each Sauron condition borne by that companion.
“‘Miserable trickster! Let me get my hands on you! Now I see your mind. You will take the Ring to Sauron and sell us all....Curse you and all halflings to death and darkness!’”

Very cool.

1 Servants of The Enemy Sauron
Event • Skirmish
Spot a Sauron condition to make a hunter Nazgûl or Sauron tracker strength +1 for each burden you can spot (limit +6).
“‘And I should have killed you already without so much talk. If I was after the Ring, I could have it – NOW!’”

Yeah Thrans right remove limit. If you have more than 6 burdens strength events are the least of your worries! Youre pretty shafted anyway so this would just be funny. Though i might be tempted to up the cost (and give toil if u deem it appropriate).

Alright, I made a couple small changes, and finally have some NEW cards! Smile Enjoy!

2 Orc Harasser Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Site: 6
Tracker. To play, spot a Sauron minion.
This minion is strength +2 for each Shadow card borne by a companion skirmishing this minion.
His minions can sense despair and doubt in their enemies, and feed off of it.

3 Orc Hounder Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Site: 6
Tracker. To play, spot a tracker.
Each companion skirmishing this minion is strength -1 for each Shadow card borne by that companion (and each burden if that companion is the Ring-bearer).
“‘...have we here the strength to withstand the Enemy, the coming of Sauron at the last, when all else is overthrown?’”

2 Orc Butcher Sauron (reprint...again)
Minion • Orc
Strength: 6
Vitality: 2
Site: 6
For each Sauron condition you can spot, this minion is stength +1.
“‘And yet we see that Sauron can torture and destroy the very hills.’”

Why not make it Shadow condition? Surely he wouldn’t get bonuses for Sting of Shelob, for example. Other than that, I think you could safely raise his strength to 6.

I don’t like the brackets (both because it’s too complicated and too good), but the rest of the card is fine (same note on Shadow card though).

Im uneasy with the wording but hes ok. Im a little uneasy about giving a big minus strength to companions. This would kill most RB’s with a few burdens. You have to be careful with reducing a comps strength not adding to a minions as overwhelms become easy peasy.

Hey, remember these guys? No? I can hardly blame you. Last update in this thread was...uh...well, nevermind when. Whistle

Truth be told, I...uh...forgot about this culture. Embarassed But as I’m going through The Road Ahead the other day, trying to figure out what I need to do to finish it, I came across this poor, abandoned Sauron culture.

So, let’s get this going again. We’ve mostly focused on trackers to this point. How about some NON-tracker stuff? Enjoy!

These three guys are a nod to the "Tower" Orcs of the Fellowship block and the "Gate" Orcs of the last Tower block and first King block sets. They have the stats of the "Tower"s and abilities more in line with the "Gate"s.

3 Tower Trooper Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 9
Vitality: 2
Site: 6
When you play this minion, if you can spot 4 burdens, you may draw a card.
“‘...for they look out over the Dead Marshes and the Noman-lands to Cirith Gorgor and the black gates of Mordor.’”

4 Tower Veteran Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 10
Vitality: 3
Site: 6
When you play this minion, the Free Peoples player must add 2 or discard a card from hand.
“The Dark Tower had been rebuilt, it was said. From there the power was spreading far and wide, and away far east and south there were wars and growing fear.”

5Tower Commander Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 11
Vitality: 2
Site: 6
Each time you play a Sauron condition, you may remove 3 (or 2 if that condition plays on a companion) and exert a Sauron Orc to add a burden.
“‘If a man must needs walk in sight of the Black Gate, or tread the deadly flowers of Morgul Vale, then perils he will have.’”

1All Hope Left Him Sauron
Condition • Support Area
Each time the fellowship moves to a site in region 3, you may exert a Sauron minion to add a burden (or 2 burdens if the Ring-bearer bears a Sauron condition).
“...wall upon wall, battlement upon battlement, black, immeasurably strong, mountain of iron, gate of steel, tower of adamant, he saw it: Barad-dûr, Fortress of Sauron.”

I LOVE the lore (and title) from this one. Hope the text does it justice.

1 The Dark Tower Sauron
Condition • Support Area
To play, exert a Sauron minion.
Each time the fellowship moves, if you can spot a Sauron minion, the Free Peoples player must discard a card from hand.
“‘Those who pass the gates of Barad-dûr do not return.’”

Sort of a more balanced Tower of Barad-dûr...for a more civilized age, I suppose. Very Happy

I dont think the exertion is necessary if you can already spot 4 burdens.

Isnt this already a card title? Think Cool.

Wow thats cool but strong.

Yeah thats a cool card. May even cost 0.

coolio! maybe give freeps a way to prevent, like adding 4 or 3 and a threat?

Which Tower are these titles referring to? Seems too costly, no? Maybe make it 2 outright, assuming you have no cards that play Sauron conditions out of phase.

Mixed opinions on that last bunch, so I mostly left them alone (since they’re somewhere in the middle of differing viewpoints). But I did make a couple small tweaks.

As I promised in my current Ages of Middle-earth thread, I will be updating ALL my current DC threads over the next 24 hours. And since this has been sitting dormant the longest, I thought I’d start here! Smile

You probably don’t remember it, but WeyounsLastClone designed this card as part of my recent DC contest. It wasn’t a winning entry, but it was close, and I liked how it worked with other cards in my set, so I plucked it out and dropped it in.

3 Morgul Raider Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 9
Vitality: 3
Site: 6
Tracker.
When you play this minion, you may remove 1 to choose one: draw 2 cards, then discard a card from hand; or make the Free Peoples player draw a card, then discard 2 cards from hand.
The Orcs of Sauron were as focused on self-preservation as on the destruction of their enemy.
- WeyounsLastClone

I’ve made two Orcs along the same vein to ensure WLC’s card REALLY fits. Enjoy! Smile

2 Morgul Pillager Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 7
Vitality: 2
Site: 6
Tracker.
When you play this minion, you may remove 2 to make the Free Peoples player choose one: discard 2 cards from hand; discard 2 cards from the top of his or her draw deck; or discard 2 Free Peoples cards from play.
“‘Of course the Enemy has other servants, but they will have to journey all the way to the borders of Rivendell....’”

4Morgul Marauder Sauron
Minion • Orc
Strength: 11
Vitality: 3
Site: 6
Tracker.
When you play Morgul Marauder, you may exert it and remove 2 to make the Free Peoples player choose one: add a burden; or discard X cards from hand, where X is the number of other Sauron minions you can spot.
“‘Thus the Enemy knows now that the One is found, that it was long in the Shire; and since his servants have pursued it almost to our door, he soon will know, already he may know, even as I speak, that we have it here.’”

These may be our last Sauron Orcs of the set, but it is certainly not the last Sauron minions. Twisted Evil I also need to beef up Sauron conditions and especially events, so I’ll be getting to those soon-ish too.
