As a reminder, this is part of the third of 3 sets:
H1 - The Hobbit (300 cards, 110C 100U 90R)
H2 - The Battle of the Five Armies (200 cards, 70C 70U 60R)
H3 - The White Council (200 cards, 70C 70U 60R)

And it’s more or less complete, I just need the approval of the talented DCers of the cobracards forum!

Here is a (very brief) summary of the block mechanics featured in the first set:

Terror X (Each time this character is assigned to skirmish an opponent’s character, they may make that opponent exert X of their characters.)

Winged (This character can only take 1 wound per phase, regardless of its source.)

Locked - (A card that is Locked has blank game text, unless it is Unlocked. An ability or keyword that is Locked is nonexistent unless it is Unlocked.)

Unlocked - (A card can only be Unlocked if a card allows it to be. A card with no Locked text cannot be Unlocked.)

A seriously detailed description of the last two can be found at this link: http://lotrtcgdb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=4434 (below the Dwarven cards)

There are also a couple more that feature in this set that weren’t in the last, but I’ll get onto them later.

Here’s the culture break down, and clicking on finished cultures will take you to their card lists.

Dwarven - 25
Elven - 26
Gandalf - 33
Gollum - 1
Isengard - 4
Orc - 21
Sauron - 16
Shire - 12
Wraith - 50
White - 12

So this is something the wraiths will be strong at? Preventing locking? This card is fine, means to lock a shadow card exert the rb. Sound.

Interesting. Takes a bit for it to start to pay off, since it costs 3, but once it does it can pay off in droves. I like it.

One thing I DON’T like is how this helps enduring minions. Perhaps put a "(or heal that minion if it is enduring)" in there.

At least I told you it wasn’t a word by putting it in inverted commas! Razz

Wraiths are not particularly good at preventing Locking, but the Wraith culture didn’t appear in the first set to have its card in that cycle so I put it in here.

To clarify, Wraiths are good at:
1) Corruption
2) Terror
3) Enduring
4) Reasonably good at threats and locking as side issues to tie in with the Spiders of Dol Guldur.

But, that’s your lot for the moment, because I’m about to be busy and tomorrow morning I’m going away, so I don’t know when I’ll be back on, though almost certainly by Tuesday night.

Because of the coincidence of DI’s minion and follower Sauron, I thought this would be the perfect time to spoil my equivalents:

4 • The Necromancer, Lord of Dol Guldur Wraith
Minion • Maia
Str: 8

The Necromancer cannot take wounds during the archery phase and may not be assigned to a skirmish.
Shadow: If The Necromancer is not exhausted, exert or wound a Wraith minion to play a Wraith minion. That minion’s twilight cost is -1 for each wound on The Necromancer.

The point of the non-exhausted thing is that you can use The Necromancer’s ability to exert other enduring minions as well, and each of their twilight costs is -1 for each wound on The Necromancer. If you could do that for -3, that would be rather too good!
