A whack at my first control deck.
--- end description ---

Okay, I’ve never been able to make a good control deck, but I’m going to try it and see what I can do.

Lands:

Adarkar Wastes x 4
Battlefield Forge x 4
Shivan Reef x 4
Snow Covered Mountain x 4
Snow Covered Island x 4
Snow Covered Plains x 4

Creatures:

Stuffy Doll x 4
Rimescale Dragon x 4
Numot, The Devestator x 2
Lightning Angel x 4
Lost Auromancers x 3
Arcanis the Omnipotent x 2
Rimefeather Owl x 4

Enchantments:

Pariah x 4

Instants/Sorceries:

Wrath of God x 2
Cancel x 2
Skred x 4

This deck has a few strategies.

First one is to freeze permanents with Rimescale Dragon/Rimefeather Owl. Stuffy Dolls are a good candidate for it, actually, because then Skred can pound away on them. Pariah enchants a Stuffy Doll, so anytime anyone tries to deal you damage, it goes right back to them. As such, don’t block unless they have Virulent Slivers or something. Lost Auromancers can grab a Pariah a little faster. Oh, and those Painlands are AWESOME! Here’s something fun to do. Tap all your painlands at the start of your turn to swing at your doll, spend what you need, and then let your mana burn slap them in the face. Twisted Evil

If necessary, Lightning Angels can attack. Wrath can clear the board early game, Numot can hit their lands hard.

Oh, and if they have a really big creature that is annoying you, enchant it with Pariah. Twisted Evil

Okay, F_M, I’m almost CERTAIN that this is a control deck, right?

Yep, it’s a control deck alright. However, you have a WAY too high mana curve. Drop some expensive cards, pack MORE counterspells and mass removal, drop Adarkar Wastes for Boreal Shelf, find a place for Scrying Sheets and maybe consider packing Coldsteel Heart. Then, I’d go and play some Mistbind Cliques, just for their CIP ability, so you can tap their lands eot to play Stuffy Doll freely next turn, or whatever other threat you want to. Some Cryptic Command could be good, as well.

I was going to run cryptic command, but I wasn’t sure that the mana base would be able to get BlueBlueBlue soon enough for it to work.

I tested it and...kinda decided that I needed more mana. Accelerators?

Prismatic Lens and Mind Stone come to mind.
