Says, "while you can spot 4 mounts, those mounts cannot be discarded by shadow player".

Now, if I have 5 mounts in play, does Hama still protect all 5???

Yes, because you can always just change the 4 you’re spotting.

When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.

Who am I?

That’s some funky wording. Haleth never gives you a choice of which mounts to spot, does he? Because "can spot" means you’re required to spot all of them, and if you were able to spot four, his ability will trigger. Also I don’t think the rules cover timing issues on when you can change the particular objects being spotted if it’s a continuous effect.

So I’d argue that however it really works, Haleth ends up protecting all Free Peoples mounts. Just cleaner that way. Razz

If you can spot 5, then you can spot 4.
All cards do what they say.

I have another question on him.

What about Rohan Stable Master (bearer is considered to be mounted)?

I’d say no... still can’t spot a mount.

Yeah, I’ve considered that same question before, NB. I agree with ES...I think that since there is not an actual mount involved with Stable Master, just a mounted companion, Haleth doesn’t work.

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Right. "Mounted" implies nothing. It’s an unloaded keyword. However, when a companion bears a mount, they gain "mounted". Simple as that.

Thank you for the help, people. Haleth is just weird.
