Hi all,
I am wondering, what effect would playing 11S65 Ranger of Westernesse in your starting fellowship have? Would you be able to put down your own site 2? This seems like it should have an easy answer, I just can’t puzzle it for sure. Any advice would be great. Thanks! |

I’m about 99% certain that there would be no effect, because the Fellowship isn’t "at" any site when the starting fellowship is played (and, of course, you can’t have a "next" site, if you’re not even on the sitepath). Along the same lines of reasoning, I’m pretty sure that Site 1 is played after the starting fellowships.
But as I don’t have a rulebook in front of me, I’m not absolutely certain. |

That’s kind of what I was thinking too, and I couldn’t make heads or tails of the Rulebook either way, so I will assume that he doesn’t affect the site path if he is in the starting fellowship.
On another issue... what do you use to manage your offline card inventory? I have been using Decipher’s LOTR Online TCG 2 Collection Manager, but it doesn’t seem to store values for cards in Sets 16-19. I will enter values, save the file, leave thef ile, come back in - vlaues are gone, back to zero quantity. I assume they stopped updating the program, although the online game is still playable through 2010. Do you know of some other manager options that are beyond Excel sheets (i.e, have card photos, etc.)? I would sure appreciate any info. Thanks! |

No, I’m almost certain that you play your site 2 along with your site 1.

Should work.
The first site on the adventure path is played before the starting fellowship, and you may use "When you play" game text on a starting companion.
I think the funky bits are site text isn’t active when the starting fellowship is played, and the Ring-bearer is "placed," not played, unless my scavenger hunt missed something. |

You can even play 2 such Rangers and play both Site 2 and 3, I believe. My understanding is that cards with "play the fellowship’s next site" play the next possible site if it lacks the "(replacing opponent’s site if necessary)" text as well. Since Site 2 would already be on the table, the second Ranger would then play the next possible site, meaning Site 3. |

Hey, whaddya know, I was wrong. Okay, not even close to being the first time.
Anytime I think I know the answer, and post, I’m wrong. Any time I’m not sure, and don’t post, I’m right.
Maybe I should start guessing randomly.
Madness: Doesn’t SdA have a collection manager? I dunno, because I never use sda. I should, but I don’t. Oh well. |

Nope. Doesn’t work that way. The next site is the site immediately after the one the fellowship is at.
I used to think that too, but I thought I had read/heard otherwise.
Are we all sure about this? I can’t seem to find any "official" ruling in the rulebook or anything.... |
