I figured it didn’t matter hugely. In future we won’t because all the votes will be dealt with before moving onto the next round.

Oh and received half, so looking good! Thumbs Up

No I’m waiting for only 2, LK and (surprise surprise Razz) DI!

A huge thank you to those who have already submitted. I’ll wait not too much longer for those 2 potential entries.

Like last time we’ll be voting for our favourite 3 (in order), obviously not voting for yourself.

ALL of those twelve above must vote, and I will be pestering those who don’t.

A tentative deadline will be Thursday 14th. I say tentative because it might be too short, but I’m hoping it won’t be.

Nice, but it would have to be in exactly the right deck, one running Sense of Obligation, Blade Tip and Black Breath, and the chance of comboing all of those on are pretty slim b/c the guy will either die from Blade Tip or the conditions will get trashed, meaning that I see this thing getting TOPS 2 burdens.

#2
5 Beauty is Fading (V) Wraith
Event
Maneuver: Exert a Nazgul to add two burdens. The Free Peoples player may discard two possessions or a companion to prevent this.

Heh. Weak for the cost.

1 V 202

Pretty wordy. I think its also fairly complex. And twilight Nazzies gaining fierce isn’t something they usually do, but IDK if its balanced or not.

#4
5 Beauty Is Fading (V) Wraith
Event - Regroup
Toil 2.

’Neath sea the land sinketh, / the sun dimmeth, / from the heavens fall / the fair bright stars....

Toil’s not really a FotR keyword. As is, not enough bang for the buck.

Thran’s Note: The lore of this one is apparently from the Old Norse poem Voluspa and referring to Ragnarok. Just thought you might like to know! Very Happy

That would probably be AD, then, because he’s obsessed with anything Norse.

#5
5 Beauty Is Fading (V) Wraith
Event
Toil 1.
Maneuver:
Exert a Nazgul to reveal a card at random from the Free Peoples player’s hand. You may discard a card of the same type from play (and add a burden if you revealed a Shadow card).
"’...the Three will fail, and many beautiful things will fade and be forgotten.
1 V 202

An uber-crummy catapult that only works once. I don’t like it.

#6
5 Beauty Is Fading (V) Wraith
Event
To play, exert a Nazgul.
Skirmish: The Free Peoples player may discard any number of Free Peoples conditions or Free Peoples possessions. Then make each companion (except the Ring-bearer) strength -1 for each card they bear until the regroup phase.
"’...the Three will fail, and many fair things will fade and be forgotten.’"
1 V 205

I love it. That’s awesome. I woulda worded it differently, though.

Thran’s Note: The principle of this card I’m told is to specifically target companions bearing artifacts (to fit in with the lore) and Shadow cards (to fit into Wraith strategies).

#7
5 Beauty Is Fading (V) Wraith
Event
Maneuver: Exert a Wraith minion to make the Ring-bearer wear The One Ring until the regroup phase. The free peoples player may add 2 burden to prevent this.
"...The Three will fail, and many fair things will fade away and be forgotten."
1 V 202

Useless. Completely useless.

#8
5 Beauty Is Fading (V) Wraith
Event
Toil 2.
Maneuver: Spot a Nazgul to discard a Free Peoples card (except a companion) with twilight cost X or less, where X is the number of burdens you can spot. Then, if no Wraith minions were exerted to play this event, you may add a burden.
"’...the Three will fail, and many fair things will fade and be forgotten.’"
1 V 202

Like it, but still, toil is not a FotR keyword.

#9
5 Beauty is Fading (V) Wraith
Event
Maneuver: Spot a Nazgul and an exhausted unbound companion to make that companion resistance 0 until the regroup phase.
"’...the Three will fail, and many fair things will fade and be forgotten.’"
1 V 202

ARGH! FotR didn’t have unbound comps resistance.

#10
5 Beauty Is Fading (V) Wraith
Event
Toil 2.
To play, spot a Nazgul.
Maneuver: Spot a Dwarven condition to discard that condition. Spot an Elven condition to add a burden. Spot a Gandalf condition to exert a companion.
"... the Three with fail, and many fair things will fade and be forgotten."
1 V 202

So, basically shotgun at anything that runs more that one of the cultures. I like it, but a little weak. Toil 2 I guess helps, but its not FotR...

#11
5 Beauty Is Fading Wraith
Event
Maneuver: Exert a Nazgûl (or spot a mounted or twilight Nazgûl) to discard a companion or ally. The Free Peoples player may discard 2 Free Peoples cards from play to prevent this.

Awesome. I love it.

#12

Maneuver: Spot a Nazgûl to make the Free Peoples player exert a companion for each burden you can spot.
"’...the Three will fail, and many fair things will fade and be forgotten.’"

Hasn’t this been done before already?

By the way, NB, I specifically said in the rules for this round that these cards could work for any Nazgul strategy - so Toil and resistance are entirely fair game.

GP for being so prompt!

Oh, sorry. It doesn’t really change anything, though, since I kinda like the old skull stuff.

1] #1 - I like how this encourages a whole deck to be built around it and it fits the flavour well.
2] #12 - A very powerful effect as a 5 cost event should have. I think it should probably require the Nazgul to exert as a cost but again, a whole deck could be built around this.
3] #8 - I liked the engine that the card has in itself, it can give you the burdens to fuel a more powerful event later in the game. It was just a little too complicated for me and might not be effective enough in play to justify the twilight cost.

Overall, I thought the cards submitted were really good and some interesting takes on the theme. Good work!
