Glorfindel and I have arranged our time to play.

So everyone can calm down about when we are going to play!

He will give you the thrilling game report of the carnage and destruction that his Shadow wreaked on my Freeps. Razz

Well, first SdA game, first report. Not sure how many specific details to give since I may use this deck later. AP can fill in anything I missed. Wink

My Dwarven Rings/Damage and Orc Warg Corruption/Beatdown
His Rainbow Wounding and Stomp the Blood Out of Your Veins

AP bid 2, and I bid 1, so he made me go first to get an upper hand with strategic site use. I got a fairly good Freeps hand anyway, along with four extra cards from No Pauses, No Spills. Fellowship set up and ready to go. On site two he added a burden to my Gimli RB by switching out Sirannon Ruins for Pelennor Flat with a Nazzie. I had no trouble dealing with his minions and doubled to keep him from repeating the same. Essentially made it to site 3 unscathed after healing from the sanctuary. Gloin, Son of Groin helped get my shadow ready to launch... and it did!

His deck gave me lots of twilight, which is exactly what I needed. At site two I was able to play a riding minion that hands-down overwhelmed two of his elves (Rumil and Elven Guardian I believe). He stayed, of course.

By the time he made it to site 4 (one site behind me), I had killed off Eowyn and Aragorn, and Frodo was left with 7-ish burdens. He had given me 17 twilight, and I was able to use it completely to empty my hand of all the Shadow cards.

Meanwhile, while single moving from site 4-5, he pounded the wounds on me with lots of archery (can you say Howdah?) and mixed minions. I made it to site five with all my companions almost completely exhausted.

My move to site 6: His archery destroyed my Dwarven Bracers, and by assigning a minion he was able to kill off one of my companions. Unfortunately, I could have prevented it, but made a critical mistake. I had to distribute 4 threat wounds, 3 as burdens and 1 killing off an exhausted companion, leaving me with Gimli almost corrupted and both remaining comps exhausted. But at least I was at the sanctuary!

AP was not so fortunate. Having only Frodo, he moved to site 5, unable to play Glorfindel because of the spotting requirements. The game ended with Frodo having 12 burdens, having to choose between being corrupted with 14 burdens by the Great Ring or overwhelmed with a strength of -9 (well, 0) to 13.

Good game! Mr. Green

Awesome another group of tournament players have finally started their matches. Not sure I will be around for round 2 since I have that feeling Gil will get the next win. Even if you do manage to proceed to the second round not to confident in my FOtR block deck Sad

I have to leave in a bit though to get my daughter from school, but if you have time later this evening we can get round one for us over Very Happy .

Game Results

NKís Rohan/Shire Exerting with Orc Wargs
vs.
G-Eís Aragorn, Gollum Choke with NG and Monsters (Not sure what to call it)

Results

We both bid 1 and he won the toss so I went first. I played a Shadowplay, Eomerís Spear, Trusty Weapon, Firefoot, Eomerís Steed (thanks to Stables), and a Shadowplay and then I moved. He played nothing, but I elected to stay fearing his was setting a trap.

For his first turn he played Come Away, Deagol, Fishing Boat, Nice Fish and moved wounding Smeagol on the move. I played a single Warg-Master with the pathetic twilight he left and was done. He attached Deagol to Aragorn, Heir to the Throne of Gondor and assign the orc to Frodo. Orc won 8-7, but Deagol triggered giving Aragorn Anduril, Kingís Blade. He stayed.

I played Aragorn, Elessar Telecontar, another Shadowplay and With Strength to Fight and moved. He ended up playing fat Ones Wants It then Captured By the Ring to add to threats. He then played Led Astray replacing the site with Bridge of Khazad-dum and then dropped The Balrog, Demon of Might. I used my 2 Shadowplays on the Balrog, and was forced to pass maneuver and archery. Aragorn fought Gollum and Eower got the Balrog. Aragorn beat up on Gollum and for Eomer Balrog had to exert for Firefoot, I discarded spear to add 4th wound then retrieved the Spear with Merry to kill the Balrog off Thumbs Up I stayed

At site 2 he played another Come Away, Safe Passage (naming mountain), Thereís Another Way and another Deagol. He moved, wounding Frodo and Smeagol, and only left me 3 twilght so not much to do there. He stayed again.

At Site 3 I was getting clogged due to his choke, But I replayed Merry and a Riddermark Javelin and moved. He played CBtR adding 2 more threats, then played and Heavy Burden. Aragorn faced Gollum and won. He decarded Gollum and removed a threat with Heavy Burden to add a Burden to Frodo. I stayed.

He played nothing at site 3 and moved (wounding Aragorn and Smeagol) giving my 6 twilight to work with. I was able to squeeze out an Orc Scout with a Relentless Warg Twisted Evil . We both ended up passing to the skirmish. He assign Smeagol to face the mounted orc and after the dust had settled Smeagol was exhausted. For fierce he let Frodo have a shot at him. Frodo used The Great Ring to add a burden and lost 8-10. He stayed.

At Site 4 I played very little again. Anduril, Sword That Was Broken and replayed Merry, then moved. He dropped Gollum yet again, and after altering the site path a bit Played another Balrog which was quickly SPed. We both passed to skirmish (thanks to the Balrog again) Aragorn faced Gollum, Gorn winning and Eomer did his trck with the spear again. I passed Regroup and stayed.

At site 4 he played Gladden Homestead Adding 7 tokens to it and a few other freebie conditions used Still far ahead to replace the site and moved Wounding Frodo and discarding one of his Come Away. I played another Orc Scout and played Armed for Battle to pull my Relentless Warg out of my discard pile. Aragorn faced the Orc first I exerted my orc to wound Aragorn then winning finished him off, thanks to spotting man with the warg. Frodo got the fierce and since he forgot to wear the ring for Maneuver I exerted Frodo until he died.

Great Game G-E Applause , but since (as we decided after the game) my using of Shadowplay against his first Balrog was a bit late may have helped my victory somewhat. So we agreed he will advance in the tournament instead of me. No hard feeling from me since I donít have much experience in FOtR block and he would make the next round of the tournament a bit more exciting than me.

Good Luck G-E, I will be pulling for you. Dancing

When we do it in Iraq, it's called progress. When we do it here in the US, it's called socialism.
