I was wondering how this situation would resolve
My opponent has 4+ conditions out, 2 of which are Deceit. I play Lothlorien Guides and choose to discard both Deceit.
a) Can they prevent each other while they are both being discarded?
b) Can they use the twilight generated by Lothlorien Guides? |

I would say that each deceit could prevent the other from being discarded since each is target individually and one at a time. I yes they could use the twilight generaed by Lothlorien Guides since you have to pay the cost before you get the effect of the card |

NK is right. The response to discarding 1 deceit is triggered by the other and vice versa. 2 deceits means as long as there is pool they cannot be discarded if the shadow chooses to respond. And yes the pool has been added to play the freeps card already. |
