No. Onslaught is the greatest set to ever live.

Well that may be... but then I have to tamper with which sets I use, which kind of opens way too many ideas to possibly discover. In standard, if you name any playable card, I can tell you everything about it. I know far, far less about anything before Mirrodin, possibly including mirrodin.

How about Walking Archive.

From the moment that I got one out of my Dissension boosters, I loved that card. It has so much potential. But how can it best be abused?

Hm... that’s a toughie. I think something like this would best do the trick.

4 Howling Mine
4 Kami of the Crescent Moon
4 Walking Archive
4 Boomerang
4 Azorious Signet
4 Eye From Nowhere
4 Ebony Owl Netsuke
4 Exhaustion
4 Remand

4 Hallowed Fountain
10 Island
10 Plains

However, that;s a little bit mainstream for me... this might be fun, too.

4 Utopia Sprawl
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Walking Archive
4 Loxodon Hierarch
4 Remand
3 Keiga, the Tide Star
4 Compulsive Research
3 Meloku, the Clouded Mirror
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder

In this deck, you can use lots of mana acceleration without fear of using too many cards that are useless latein the game. You can afford to pump up walking archive if you so choose for a big blocker until you can pull out masses of large creatures and swing ftw.

How about Phytohydra? If you can avoid bounce, removal, and counters, it’s a real nuisance.
I am always looking for more burns...
I am always looking for good mana accelerators...
I am always looking for good counters...
I am always looking for good kill spells...
I am always looking for good life gain cards...

And most of all, I like playing against people who don't cry and/or flip me off when I play Faith's Fetters on their best creature!

Allright.

4 Phytohydra
4 Pariah’s Shield
4 Birds of paradise
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Faith’s Fetters
4 Congregation at Dawn
4 Privileged position
2 Regrowth
4 Kami of Ancient Law
2 Fists of Ironwood
2 Sensei’s Divining Top

Basically, phyto + shield is main combo.

Mana acceleration gives turn three phyto hopefully.

Finishers- Position makes yourself impossible to kill with a shielding phyto. Fists gives big phyto trample. Remember to attack- blocking isn’t necessary. Koal handles any sort of fettering or pillory on the phyto.

Congregation finds phytos, top helps finding phytos and shield.

How much land is there?

As soon as I find someone with Pariah’s Shield, I am definitely putting it into my Selesnya deck.

22 lands.

Keep in mind, I didn’t exactly sit around testing that for more than a few hands of workshop- it may need some tweaking.

The fundamental problem with a booby trap deck is there’s no artifact search in standard. Here we go anyways Very Happy

4 Birds of Paradise
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Utopia Sprawl
4 Gifts Ungiven
2 Hana Kami
4 Recollect
4 Compulsive Research
4 Ethereal Usher
4 Booby Trap
4 Tidings

22 Land

I think we all get the general idea. Turn one, mana acceleration. Turn two: Hana Kami or transmute usher. Turn three gifts. Beyond that, it’s using the gifts stack hana kami, recollect, ethereal usher, and Booby Trap.

Honestly, this is the worst deck I’ve made in this section- it’s hard to find a way to make booby trap competitive while it’s the focus of the deck.

Here’s one that has booby trap, but is less centered around it.

4 Booby Trap
4 Tidings
4 Lava Spike
4 Electrolyze
4 Compulsive research
4 Shock
4 Volcanic Hammer
4 Hidetsugu’s second rite
4 Pyroclasm
2 Flames of the Blood Hand

Hopefully, you can use trap or rites for ten damage, use the rest for the other ten. Lots of draw to up the chances of actually getting traps and rites.
