So, I’m feeling ambitious, and I’ve decided to start on my very own, "Wheel of Time" set following basic LOTR rules.

Differances:

Instead of the Ring-Bearer, you will have the "Dragon Reborn."
Instead of the One Ring, you will have "Lews Therin" (who possesses the Dragon Reborn).
Instead of "Ring-Bound, you’ll have "Ta’Veren."
Thats really about it. There are new cultures, reflecting the many places in the world of WoT.
New Unloaded Keywords:
Aes Sedai.
Blademaster.

New Loaded Keywords:
Dragon Reborn

(there’ll be more as I expand)

The Cards:

0•Rand al’Thor, Of the Two Rivers [Two Rivers]
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 8
Dragon Reborn. Ta’Veren.
While you cannot spot 2 other companions, Rand al’Thor cannot be overwhelmed unless his strength is tripled.
C

4•Rand al’Thor, The Dragon Reborn [Tear]
Strength: 8
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 8
Companion • Man
Dragon Reborn. Ta’Veren.
While Rand al’Thor is not exhausted, he gains muster.
R

1•Egwene al’Vere, Of the Two Rivers [Two Rivers]
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 9
Companion • Man
Aes Sedai.
Each time Egwene al’Vere wins a skirmish, you may exert her to remove a burden.
Regroup: Exert Egwene al’Vere twice to draw a card.
U

2•Mat Cauthron, Of the Two Rivers [Two Rivers]
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistence: 8
Companion • Man
Muster. Ta’Veren.
Response: If you lose initiative, you may remove up to 2.
U

2•Perrin Aybara, Of the Two Rivers [Two Rivers]
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistence: 8
Companion • Man
Ta’Veren.
While you have initiative, Perrin Aybara is strength +1 for each possession he bears.
U

2•Heron-Marked Blade [Two Rivers]
Strength: +3
Possession • Hand Weapon
Bearer must be Rand al’Thor.
While you have initiative, he is damage +1.
R

1•Blacksmith’s Hammer [Two Rivers]
Strength: +2
Possession • Hand Weapon
Bearer must be Perrin Aybara.
Each time he wins a skirmish, you may remove 1.
C

1•Perrin’s Axe [Two Rivers]
Strength: +3
Resistance: -1
Possession • Hand Weapon
Bearer must be Perrin Aybara.
He is damage +1.
U

1•Rune Spear [Two Rivers]
Strength: +1
Possession • Hand Weapon
Bearer must be Mat Cauthron.
Each time he wins a skirmish, you may draw a card.
U

[1]Hidden Knife [Two Rivers]

Skirmish: Discard this possession and add 3 to wound a minion Mat Cauthron is skirmishing.
C

0A Roll of the Dice [Two Rivers]

C

2•Become the Wolf [Two Rivers]
Strength: +4
Condition
Plays on Perrin Aybara. Limit 1 per bearer.
He does not gain strength bonuses from possessions.
Skirmish: Exert Perrin Aybara to wound a minion he is skirmishing.
At the start of the regroup phase, discard this condition or add 2 threats.
U

1•Nyneave, Of the Two Rivers [Two Rivers]
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 9
Companion • Man

Skirmish: Discard 2 cards from hand to wound a minion Nyneave is skirmishing.
U

2•Moiraine, Of the Blue Ajah [White Tower]

While he is possessed, each time he is about to take a wound, add a burden or 2 threats instead.

•Lews Therin, Kinslayer [Dragon]
Strength: +1
Vitality: +1
Maneuver: Add a burden to “possess” the Dragon Reborn until the start of the regroup phase.
While he is possessed each time he is about to take a wound, add 2 burdens instead.

Maybe you should make the warder keyword something like "follower", in keeping with the bond between a Sedai and her Warder. Even better, have lots and lots of channeling events for the Sedai, but have them be like strength 5. Then, the Warders can have a strength bonus like +5. So a Warderless Sedai is only good for channeling, but a warder-bound Sedai is all-around awesome!
I love the mechanisms-but don’t you need some Shadowspawn to complicate things for our heros? Wink

Cool this is my attempt to look cool.

I’m just planning to make the warders be stronger when they spot their respective Aes Sedai, but not make an incredibly complicated loaded keyword.

I’m planning on it, whenever I feel the urge to and am bored enought, again. I’m thinking of making these like in sets where each set corresponds to a book in the series.

Instead of the Ring-Bearer you have the Dragon Reborn (which you’ll understand if you read the books). And instead of Ring-Bound you’ll have Ta’Veren. Otherwise it uses pure LOTR keywords and abilities, just differant Unloaded keywords and Cultures.

Here’s a little idea I’ve got for a card...tweak it at will.

4•Bubbles of Evil [Dark One]
Event-Shadow
Spot Rand and another ta’veren to add 2 and a threat.
Spot Rand and two ta’veren to make the Light player assign two wounds.
Much swirls around the ta’veren, including the evil that bubbles up from the Dark One’s prison...

I’m halfway through KOD, and I saw some things that I knew just had to be made into cards.

2 Fire-Blossoms [Asha’Man]
Event•Archery
Make Lews Therin possess the Dragon Reborn and add a burden to wound all Trollocs once.
