What are the tournament rules regarding your deck among games of a multi-game match? Are you allowed to switch to a totally new deck? If not, can you have a "sideboard" of cards to substitute in?

Does LOTR TCG have a sanctioned format that uses multi-game matches at all?

Nope. All games in the same tournament must be played with exactly the same deck. The only exception to this rule is in draft where you can switch out cards between rounds that you got in the initial draft.

Okay. So I should be keeping an eye out for what my opponents are using during a tournament.

Ehh, that’s against the rules, it’s called "scouting." Cool There can be potentially unfair situations as the result of that -- one obvious example is that if I know whether or not you’re playing a corruption Shadow, I can adjust my starting bid accordingly.

The rule against scouting is typically not enforced except in high-level or high-stakes tournaments, though...

I just learned something new about tournament play today...
I actually haven’t been in a tournament yet. I got here after Prarie Dog Comics stopped theirs. Mad

Try Decipher’s tournament locator to find tourneys in your area.

I know that Jim Sharp, the Ft. Worth DAgent occasionally ran tournaments up there. You might try contacting him at jss_hobbie@yahoo.com and see if he is still active and if there are players still in the area.

There will be a Fellowship Block draft TOC in San Antonio on May 27th that you might want to check out. The tournament listing can be found here.
