With the new non Ring-bearer Frodo, what happens if Frodo dies? Sam's gametext (pre WotR block) sepcifically states that if Frodo dies, he becomes the new Ring-bearer.
Anyone here playing LotR online, who can tell me how this is solved there? |

Hm, that's really interesting. For one thing, I didn't even notice that the new Frodo wasn't a Ring-bearer.
Sam's wording is a response action, so you wouldn't *have* to transfer the Ring if Frodo is killed, but it seems like you would have the option.
Here's an interesting question: What happens to burdens if the Ring is transferred while the original Ring-bearer is still alive? That leads to all sorts of weird situations... |

From the CRD:
SAM
Any version of Sam that can become the ringbearer if Frodo dies can only become the ringbearer if Frodo was the ring bearer when he was killed. |

i don’t think so because it sais: "when frodo dies" whenever he’s the ring bearer or not.
(however i hope you are right because my friend has made a deck with this
in wich he lets his frodo(non ringbearer) die and so removes all the burdens) |

No,it must be that way, they had to intuduce that new rule because it would be insane. Adding alternate ringbearers has changed game,so that text can’t be good any more.
Interesting, that was the sam question I asked today on our tournament. |
