So that's on the DVD? Drat. Here I thought I'd found something really interesting. #-o

Apparently, Faramir has a dreamy flashforward to what Frodo would be like should be fall to The Ring's seduction as Sméagol did. Parts of this were actually filmed, as shown by that image below and also production shots here and here. I've heard of Sauron vs. Aragorn, goblins in Lothlórien, the meeting of Elrond/Arwen and Celeborn/Galadriel, Arwen at Helm's Deep and other such stuff, but somehow never heard of this cut scene until now.

Freaky pics, if nothing else. Oh, and wonderful DC material for my future Reflections-style set.... :uh-huh:
Best regards,
Dáin

The four elves one...apparently they filmed scenes of Elrond and Arwen traveling to Lothlórien and meeting with Celeborn and Galadriel as part of The Two Towers. Arwen looks into the Mirror of Galadriel while there and sees Aragorn fighting (and being killed by) Sauron at the Black Gate (which itself was a scene semi-cut from Return of the King). Elrond consults with Celeborn and Galadriel about what the Elves should do and then resolves to send Elves to Helm's Deep. Would have been pretty cool to see, even if none of it appears in the books.

I have also seen strange things:
A Trailer where Arwen and Eowyn are in Aglarond (Eowyn is hidden, because Uruks are coming)
Aragorn is followed by an Troll in the forest
Pictures about Arwen and Galadriel in Lothlorien (no scene...but I love this picture!)

In the cinema, I saw an Isengard orc talking to Saruman, who had a sign on his face that looks like an.... umbrellla.
He never appeared on any version I watched after.

If you look at Border Defense and Rumil, Silvan Elf, these scenes are not in the film, their are from the cuts of the goblins killed on the borders of Lothlorien

I dunno if this one's old news or not, but apparently, in RotK, they were originally going to have the Corruption of Sauron rather than the Corruption of Smeagol/Gollum as the little prologue bit. I saw somewhere a pic of what Sauron was supposed to look like before he goes bad, and it was pretty awesome. Wish I could find that again.... I think maybe I have it on my other computer at home. Will have to check for that.
Forget it. I'm not arguing with the computer anymore to try to get the sig I want....

I thought he was supposed to come out at the Black Gate looking like some angel/elf/god thing and then morph
into the demon/monster/evil  Sauron and fight Aragorn. I believe the reused some of that for when Aragorn fights the huge troll right before The Ring gets destroyed. Sauron's Might has a picture of Sauron taken from the deleted Black Gates scene pasted over a picture of frightened looking Elves and Men from the prologue in FotR.

Maybe. I don't remember where I read about the whole corruption thing, but it was someplace online. That actually makes more sense. I did know about the whole Aragorn vs Sauron becomes Aragorn vs Troll.

*LOL* First thought was Glorfindel, because after Decipher was through with him, he's like the king of pallid and creepy. Then I noticed the distinctive shoulder spikes. ;)

Gotta say that's a great portrayal of Sauron.

...Denethor looks into the Palantir (of Minas Tirith) watching Frodo getting caught by Gorbag/Shagrat in the Tower... so, Denethor loses any hope and fall into madness... stopped by Gandalf who is taking control over Minas Tirith... look here: •Seeing Stone of Minas Anor

...The Witch-King looks into the Palantir of Minas Ithil (now Minas Morgul) and show what he see to Sauron... They are facing Aragorn who is looking into the Palantir of Minas Tirith showing Sauron the only thing he fears: Anduril! Sauron thinks Aragorn got The One Ring now to use it against Sauron... look here: Ithil Stone

both Scenes were cut out of the film... even in the extended version... :-( I would like to see those scenes too!

...as Pippin looks into the Palantir in Edoras... Sauron thinks that Saruman got the Hobbit with the Ring... because it was the Palantir of Orthanc... and Sauron didn't know, that the Palantir wasn't there anymore...

so what do we learn? If wee take a look into the Palantir, we see things... real things... BUT: in all cases shown above, all characters thaught false... even if we see things that are right our conclusion may get false... so, I am not wondering why there are some peoples (here on the board) getting sickofpalantirs (sorry for that joke ;-))
Mithrandir I am known to the Elves, Tharkun to the dwarves; Olorin was the name in my youth in the West which is forgotten, in the South Incanus, in the North Gandalf; into the East I will not go."

Olorin: I'm pretty sure that there were never any of those palantiri scenes. I think that they're just prop shots.

Yeah, ditto. Never heard of such scenes being filmed or even really considered, though they DID consider doing a bit more with Denethor and his palantir, I believe. Unless you've heard differently...?

I think - but I can't remember clearly - I have got this information from a guy of the film team (even Peter Jackson? - I dono't know exactly) interviewed about those scene of Denethor and the Palantir... from the Palantir of the Witch-king I don't know to much... so, me too cannot confirm if there were complete scenes recorded and cut away or just shoots... but, there were at least thoughts for sure to do so...

Now, I found this video...

Let's kick this pig. As NBarden told me right now, not every one understand this phrase (seems to be a local everyday expression)... But my TLHH english teachers work really hard to teach me as many as possible new words.

No, it is not... Seems to be VERY local limtited. German wrong translated expressions are: "I become a Hotdog", "God is my Ladle", "I have to superior"
It is going off topic...

So here are further pictures, as a kind of compensation:

No, it is not... Seems to be VERY local limtited.

its not really the local, its that not many people use it. as shieldmaiden once said: it comes from american football, (also known as a "pigskin") you start the game by kicking the football or "pig". thusly you get: "let's kick this pig"

I have good and bad news:

The blueray versions of Lotr (containing the ordinary version of the movie), will be released in December 2009  ;D

The Ultimate Collectors Version, containing deleted scenes as a kind of extra  ;D (not included into the main movie) will be released at same time, as The Hobbits starts in the cinema.

Decide for your own, which the good news is.

Have you not watched the Extended Edition special features?

This is old news. Get with the program.

I've got the extended stuff, but can not remember this. Where is it?

*Gimli founds a shiny stone in Aglarond
*Pippin asking Gandalf, if he has to go (at Mithlond)
*Legolas recitates a poem to treebeared
* Arwen looking into the mirror of Galadriel

That was cool
Gimli and the stones was funny though
Beregond,  for the people who don't know, is from the book.
He resides in Minas Tirith, and chills with Pippin.

Yeah, Jackson was talking about doing that (I think they filmed some of it), but the story was mainly Frodo's, and it was getting to be too long.

How making him a companion? Add a burden to play a ring from your draw deck at no twilight cost. 16 str, 6 twilight, damage =2 and defender +1.

Don't know if this has been posted before...

But, scouring of the Shire?

Or maybe just extended Mirror of Galadriel vision...

The second image is from the extended edition, probably the first image too but I'm not sure on that one.

The second image is definately from the extended edition. When Frodo looks into Galadriel's Mirror. Which is where I think the first image comes from aswell.
