Which set is Harder to come by these days?
« on: December 09, 2008, 03:24:13 PM »
Which set is the rarest to find these days? Like is it harder to find Rise of Saruman Decks and Packs then Hunters? Howabout the Ages End set? Are those becoming rare?

Rise of Saruman hands down... finding boosters anywhere is very very hard. So far I can only find them in countries that wont sell international.

When they first came out, I picked up 4 Ages End for about $30 total. Now you would be lucky to pay that for one.

And I moved this to Bag End as it isnt really a rules question

Rise of Saruman is definitely the hardest to come by.  Then Hunters, then T&D.

Yeah Mr Lurtzy, I don't think anyone is saying T&D is easier to get than Hunters.

Until recently T&D was fairly easy to get, but now its getting tough.  Gilgalad anyone?  please?  ](*,)

Coruscant is definitely tough, not sure about tougher than RoS though.

Have you ever heard of Rise of Saruman?

I got a complete Siege of Gondor foil set for $50... RoS will easily go for 4 times as much.

Pre-shadows, though, everything had to be foiled.

Lurtzy, so you got a steal. Ripped off the person selling it. Doesn't make it any less valuable. I've seen booster boxes going for $50, easily.

Boxes of what? I've seen everything from $9 boxes to $200 boxes.

Until recently T&D was fairly easy to get, but now its getting tough.  Gilgalad anyone?  please?  ](*,)

I'm so proud of my three copies. :P

I think RoS is toughest. The last few times I looked for it, even the great Google yielded nothing. Except two stores that were sold out.

SoG is really expensive, but I've seen places you can buy it.

Like a couple months ago, there seemed to be plenty of Hunters boxes. But I think all of us TLHH guys bought 'em up.

SoG is not as hard as people make it out.

Reflections... I have found a few boxes, but only for $40+

T&D, there is lots around but again, $100+

Hunters are hard, but starters abound.

Rise of Saruman is impossible. In a year I have found 7 starters and that is it!

I search like a maniac and I haven't seen RoS boosters in a long time.  I bought up the last that I saw.  Although I've got to wonder where the heck the Ebay seller Ghhhk gets his supply of RoS.  Are you on here Ghhhk??  Hm which one of you could be Ghhhk?   :-k

Wow-I feel like a celebrity :o

There was a time that I found ROS starters and bought all that I could.  I still consider myself as more of a player than seller...when I have time.  The ROS cards are drying up, though, and I haven't found any more recently.  There is a local store chain which has some ROS booosters left over.  Unfortunately, each store seems to have 1-3 boosters of ROS, occasionally some Hunters and usually T&D.  I buy what I can but have visited all within 60 miles or so.  There are more stores to scout out, though.

For anyone interested, I have Hunters rares up on e-bay again this week but they will be the last for a while as I'm taking the wife and kids to Dinseyworld in a couple weeks.  But, even the Hunters will soon be running out.

Anyway, it's nice to have finally found this site.  I knew something like this existed but, for some reason, couldn't find it for a while.

Nice to be home:)

I have a local card store that is always well-stocked...

Anyway I have a complete SoG collection...most of the cards in not-mint condition.  How much would it sell for? highlights include a foil Gothmog.

Yeah, I picked up a box of it a while back - and a box of hunters, too. Not sure if I could still find 'em anywhere, I -think- Potomac Distribution has some. They did last time I checked.
