I am in the habit of splashing Gandalf, Returned w/ Foe-hammer in most of my Freeps sides. Then a minute ago (literally) I was taking a look at Gandalf, Friend of the Shirefolk (who I have never used) and I found the perfect deck for him: Three Hunters. Start Frodo as RB along with Gimli and Legolas (obviously), then Prancing Pony Thorongil into the mix (obviously again), and you have a 10-strength Gandalf - throw in Foe-hammer and he's a 12.

Pretty freakin' sweet, huh?

Gandalf FotS was always in high demand back in the early days of LotR Smiley

My FotR block actually did that, I started Arwen, Daughter of Elrond, Gimli, Son of Gloin and Frodo, Reluctant Adventurer, fetching Aragorn, King in Exile via Prancing Pony.

prancing pony is such an amazing site.
I've always wondered, is the amazing part of gandalf his first ability, or his second?
and how is a 9 strength gandalf gonna win skirmishes?
ID understand...

You mean Returned? I think he's awesome because Gandalf Men decks just need tokens (like Dasron, Librarian) and they'll have lots of skirmish events (like Guidance of the Istari, Look to My Coming) which can be recurred with Erland and if you have followers (which makes sense because of Alatar), then you can make all your guys strength +4 with Strange Meeting and/or G for Grand.
