From the Decipher Pres.
« on: February 17, 2009, 03:02:56 PM »
I spoke to the Decipher president about the possibility of there being any hidden product still lurking around in Decipher's stores and she assured me its all gone.

So 0P127 is truly one of a kind!

You spoke to the Decipher president?! Did you ask about a player's committee? :P

Did you say you spoke to a woman? I thought Warren was a guy. Did you really ask the pres. about a promo card? Seriously? What about the Players Committee?

Yeah basically the company is totally focused on Fight Klub... so I figure once FK gets on its feet we should see some action!

I am a pessimist and chuckled when you said Fight Klub and Decipher would get on its feet. Here's hoping.

Did you ask about the Players Committee?

I didnt ask about the Player Committee as hawkeyeSPF is more experienced and its his work, whilst I believe I would be an asset to a PC, the people working with hawkeyeSPF are former dAgents and they know the score.

I was impressed that Cindy responded so soon! Very pleased.

FWIW, I am no longer working on that project, and as far as I know, it's on the backburner for Vince and Chris, but like I said, I'm out of the loop so I could be way off.

In any case, D is not in any state to be thinking about that or having it brought up to them, not while they're still trying to get FK officially launched.

Agreed I dont see them helping out until they see Fight Klub established.

@ HawkeyeSPF if you, Vince and Chris arent going ahead with the PC I would like to get things moving over here in Europe, but I would rather there be a universal PC. I dont know what your (or Vince or Chris') plans are.

I'm obviously interested... Though I'd prefer a global body to a European one, or perhaps a TLHH PC.

Would people at Decipher still know of stores or online companies that are selling Hunters/RoS/T&D boosters or starter decks?

Cindy mentioned Hill's, saying they bought a lot. Most of the sealed RoS stuff is now in countries that dont sell outside their borders... boring!

Lets do it. TLHH PC. We can agree on certain rules, an XList, etc. In fact we can even do v-cards. We can do simple graphical version similar to our template but not an exact copy as to avoid the potential copyright infringment if we feel the need to do so. But all in all, as long as we aren't selling it we won't draw too much attention. If we virtualize old cards we really don't have to worry about infringement with new images either, we'll just change the text of the old cards ala SWCCG.  I suggest Virtualizing cards from the first 13 sets and avoiding the later stuff since its more available. Whats stopping this, btw? Decipher should not be waited for anymore.

I've told you Jordy, that I would love to help you out with this.  I used to be in communication with Vince about this back in the day when we first were discussing it on the old forums.  Vince was the one that asked me to hold off on it, which is why I never got anything going for it.  I say lets do this, and i"m willing to head it up, if you would like me to do it.  However, I do not know everyone's strenghts and weaknesses. I would need help from the active players to know who might be willing to step up.

but a tlhh PC would accomplish nothing, we have no authority in the LOTr community.

Not strictly true - it would have authority among the users of TLHH, which is already a start.

I don't see this as a TLHH PC.   This would be a LOTR PC and as a result me may need to have our own site.

What community are you referring to? Is there a bigger collection of LOTR players than TLHH somewhere? If so then you may have a point. Otherwise we'll just have to win converts. You with us? :)

Alternative, is do nothing and continue with the stagnant fens of the Hunters block forever. I vote for the PC.

So they told you that 0P127 Aragorn Defender of Rohan is gone?  What a crock of crap!  They're holding onto that promo for dear life.

If it was gone, one of the dealers AKA Wild Things Games or Hill's Wholesale Gaming would have been the purchaser of it, and it would have been for sale quite a long time ago.  I know it was sent to a select "random" dAgents during the last dAgent promo mailing.

This is not a 1 of a kind card.  There have been at least 3 on ebay in the last two years...

Yeah, the same one. Sorry, but we never - let me stress NEVER - found another one aside from hawkeyes', and believe me, there are a lot of us here, and we dig.
