This has probably been done, but I thought it would be fun to see what your favorite pics on a card are. My personal favorite is Kings' legacy. Gorn is epic  :uh-huh: A close second is the rapping nazgual in lost in the woods  ;D What are some of yours?
No one loves you like I do.

I always thought Parry was pretty cool,

- Ulaire Cantea, Lieutenant of Dol Guldur
- Flaming Brand (foil)
- Sting, Baggins Heirloom
- Denizens Enraged

Those are a few I think have sweet pictures.

I always thought Parry was pretty cool,

Parry's always had a special place in my heart. It was the soul of one of my first terrible, terrible deck ideas back in Fellowship block that involved playing Bill Ferny, SSF, Saruman's Snows, and Saruman's Frost to overwhelm Frodo. Parry was for Sting or Hobbit Sword. It was a good idea, hindered by the need to have drawn into each of the 6 or 7 cards I needed to pull it off.

That was the funniest use of NOLINK I've seen.

My first deck idea involved Return to Its Master, back in Fellowship block. I had twilight Nazgul with Resistance Becomes Unbearable, Helpless for Sam, Uruk Scout to counter ARV, and a full complement of Saruman's Chill (*LOL*). Questionable much? But darn good fun.

I just can't look at Lost In The Woods without laughing now...ever since EL pointed out that the Nazzie in the picture isn't looking to cause trouble, it's just snapping its fingers and getting down with its bad self.

+1, I remember my friends when MD came out that they said that this was the best Sam blablabla, and when I saw the picture, at first glance, there was this great Sam, wielding Sting and all that, but when I looked closer, I just got disappointed to see that the idea Big D had for this pic was awesome, but then again the motion of the camera of New Line Cinema didn't help too much.

Yeah, it holds no awesome dynamism or Hollywood coolness, but it represents the element of constant traveling and journey that I love. And the combination of colours is awesome.

I always though Rabble Rouser the card looked awesome for some reason; with the brown hue of the card itself it made the pic look cooler, imo. And also, Faramir CoG, and Eomer 0P66;  most Faramir and Eomer pics were sick.

Thought it was a nice touch to foil the staircase in So Polite.

Hm, one I like that's difficult to explain is Orc Swordsman. I think it's mostly the golden ambiance--rather uncommon--and he's in a cool pose, surrounded by his enemies in the thick of battle. Even his lore is on the poetic end.

With Arwen you have the serious type like Daughter of Elrond (though Gwemegil wins for me, if that counts), the sad type like Echo of Luthien, and the delicate type like Queen of Elves and Men, but... my favorite Arwen companion picture is probably the one on Elven Rider, in a someone-you-can-relax-around class of her own.

And also, Faramir CoG, and Eomer 0P66;  most Faramir and Eomer pics were sick.
Aragorn has seen better days, too. Honestly, what were people's reactions the first time they saw Aragorn, Ranger of the North? After all those, the version in Age's End was a shock.

Elven Rider is really the only hot Arwen picture to me. I am not the biggest Liv Tyler fan, but Arwen, Elven Rider is definitely in a class of her own.

I think Aragorn, Ranger of the North was a sweet picture. Anyways, you already had Aragorn, King In Exile for the "classy" Aragorn look.

aragorn, ranger of the north was a sweet shot.  King in exile is a personal favorite of mine as well.  I also have a soft spot for 0P23.  it has an, "Off to the slaughter house to die" feel to it.

Well... to my mind comes:

Staff assunder (foil) - epic!
Gandalf Powerful Guide (O) MW-foil - amazing!
Radagast's Staff
The Balrog, DoM
Saruman of many Colours (this freezing gaze of Saruman, brrr)
and of course many of the foil sites - they're just great too!

- also I have to add is, that german foils look way better than the english ones (other printing station - far better quality [colours, foiling])
Mithrandir I am known to the Elves, Tharkun to the dwarves; Olorin was the name in my youth in the West which is forgotten, in the South Incanus, in the North Gandalf; into the East I will not go."

That's funny...the French foils I have may have more vibrant colors, but the foil is not lined up with the card.

*thinks* Creep.

I think HttWC and HttToG - sure, even Thorongil - were the top 3 Gorn shots. It's gotta be that manly, unkempt hair paired with the stern, yet sophisticated countenance. The ladies must go crazy.
MY fav card is still my Faramir, CoG FOIL. First Foil Rare I ever opened, and it was even worth quite a bit way back when.

Love Morgulduin foil.

Also, I think the foil Caras Galadhon has an ambient feel to the picture.

Most of the gimli foils are good too.  The armor he wears gives the cards great accents

The Easterling Army foil looks incredible. All the armor, shields, and blades are foiled making for some detailed work and a really neat light display of pinks, yellows, and greens.

I love the Greenleaf promo, imho that is a way cooler pic. I love the set RotEL, picture wise and cards too. I just love it, maybe it is the name too. Cards from that set I like

Answering the Cries (great fight scene)
Citadel of Minas Tirith (makes me want to go there)
Tower of Orthanc (sigh...back then it still had trees)
Depths of Moria (I can imagine Boromir being scared)
Gleaming in the Snow  (love, love, love this pic!)
Frodo's Pipe (I don't like the picture realy, but I really wonder what he is smoking :D)
Legolas, Son of Thranduil (1 of the best Legolas pics I guess)

Yeah, Not Listening is a really cool foil. The irises is the only part of Smeagol that is foiled. No Safe Places ends up being a cool foil because of the foil eyes too (without them, it would be ordinary and dull).

I just decided to bump this topic back up because people are talking about cool looking foils in another topic. Since we already had this, I thought we might as well use it.

Anyways...I'll add something to the discussion:
Terrible and Evil (foil).

Looks ridiculous!

The more I look at any Nazgul card on a Fell Beast, the only one that I really like is The Witch-King, Morgul King.

Why, Enduring Equea and Winged Sentry also look great!

But anyway, most of those like Cantea, FTW and Nelya, BmW are pretty bad.

the [Gondor] wraiths that are isolated in foils, i.e kind of the dead, shadow host, spectral sword, etc are cooler then say cursed of erech and dead man of dunharrow where the entire card is foiled

Terrible as the Dawn, Foil.
One of the best ever uses of a foil in a card.

Also was in a couple of decks of mine at a point where we hadn't figured out Decipher was x-ing and r-ing cards and it seemed like 2/3s of the decks had a Galadriel somewhere.

It is sooo annoying to face that card when not prepared yet, or not at all. In my multicultideck I run her with legolas and gimli as the starting line-up. Site 2 Terrible as the Dawn with the wrong ring...I played 1 card, only 1....

Oh, maybe the pain is less when it is foil indeed.

My favorite is foil Risk a Little Light. The light is the foiled part, (and it a fade foil, not a hard-edge one), so it actually looks like the light is glowing. And it's a pretty card to begin with.

It is not an official term by any means, but it describes when the foil fades into the background as opposed to a determined cut-off point.

Yes, any picture that has dramatic colors is a good candidate for a pretty foil.

I also own/ed a foil Smeagol, Poor Creature, where the only foil was his eyes, so in the right light his eyes would glow red or green or orange. Pretty creepy.

Because it looks like some cookie snack. But no, seriously, the whole background, and the whole 3D stuff in it looks bad IMO.
