When RotK came out, I made a kick-#$&*@! besiegers deck. However, I am scanning the Movie Block boards, and it appears no one plays Besiegers at all! Is there a reason for that? I don't remember the exact deck list, but it looked something like this: Gorgoroth Agitator x3 Gorgoroth Garrison x3 Gorgoroth Soldier x3 Gorgoroth Pillager x3 Gorgoroth Sapper x2 Gorgoroth Troop x2 Gorgoroth Berserker x3 Gorgoroth Swarm x3 Din of Arms x4 Encirclement x2 Tower Walkway x2 Troop Tower x3 Grond, Hammer of the Underworld x3 Dead MarshesI feel like the deck was only 32-34 cards to run most efficiently. But you get the idea. Why don't people play besiegers? I had this deck coupled with Gondor Knights and Gondor Ring-Bound Rangers and the deck worked nicely both times. I dissolved this shadow when I dissolved my Gondor Rangers deck and moved my Direct Wounding shadow over to my Gondor Knights. Maybe it is nostalgia, but I'd love to give this deck a shot again; I was just curious as to why no one plays besiegers. Edit: I also used to run Gorgoroth Officer...doesn't seem anyone runs him, I suppose? -wtk

People do, they just don't often put decklist of them up. One reason I think is that they can be kinda hard to make and no one wants to give up their secrets

Fair enough. I just assumed no one played them which would be a shame because they are neat. Din of Arms is one of the most fun cards printed, if you ask me. -wtk

I think I like this one best, actually. Maybe a copy of Dead Marshes in case Encirclement gets discarded or you need a Troop Tower in a pinch. And what about Din of Arms? Do people not run that? -wtk

Looking back at the deck list I posted, it is not very good. Din of Arms is a fun splash card--two copies, maybe, is about fine. That said, I was never really a fan of the Trolls even though they were ridiculously powerful. But I think everyone knows that I try to avoid cards from sets 8-10 when possible. -wtk

I think it's a great card because it gives you a site and strength boost. But yeah I only use 2 copies because I like more minions in this type of deck. Ologhai of mordor seems pretty easy to play as well... though much better late game.

- I'd treat Din of Arms as a borderline add/drop. It seems to hit the right notes, but I guess I just haven't had a moment where it saved the game for me. Nice side effect though if DoA discards a card your opponent was needing. - Wondering if Gorgoroth Servitor would be a good addition in Expanded to tech against archery + Orophin / Rumil Silvan Elf. Shadowplay still leaves my builds QQ'ing in the corner. - I'd be surprised if someone breaks out the Gollum engine in Movie, since Movie has good threat-adding sites like Hall of the Kings, Crashed Gate (a site instead is good, too), and Dagorlad. IIRC Troll swarms were popular then; for reference, here's Josh Cornwell-Mott's build: 1 Gorgoroth Agitator3 Gorgoroth Assassin4 Gorgoroth Soldier2 Gorgoroth Swarm4 Great Hill Troll2 Siege Troop3 Troll of Gorgoroth, AoS4 Great Siege Towers2 Grond, HotU1 Ithil Stone2 Their Marching Companies2 Tower Walkway1 Troop Tower

I play something similar. I've found the most success with Besiegers when they are focused around dropping cheap trolls late in the game.
