Bid 0. It doesn't matter if you start or not. You need your site 1 as much as you need your site 2.

My sites 2-4-5-6-7-9 are battlegrounds.

The other fellowship uses a strong Gimli with cards like Horn of Helm and  Best Company which are great at battlegrounds. Once you have all 4 Toss Me out and he has his Axe, Gimli is strenght 14. I haven't tried it yet.

The other fellowship uses elven tokens with Gorn. Haldir's text is interesting on battleground sites.

The shadow is one of the most effective I have ever used. Once you control site some sites, they become very dangerous, especially if you control a battleground. Many of those Uruks are extremely good on battlegrounds. There are also some big uruks who become very cheap at then end of the game. In late game, Uruk-hai band become very strong. It's quite easy to win the skirmishes with all the pumps and We are the fighting uruk-hai is one of the most dangerous ever made. Most of my wins on GCCG were shadow wins.

I don't know how you would make the room, but you should probably run 2 more Uruk Stormer. Then you could run Gimli, Skilled Defender and Horn of Helm, if you liked that idea. And 35-35 is pretty reasonable.

Edit: Or you could run another elf or two. I think I'd like to see a few more companions. A Faramir, Son of Denethor is a nice splash companion or Pengedhel, Naith Warrior is pretty nice too.

I have noticed there are many cards in Towers that discard cards from your own hand. This was probably in response to Fellowship choke decks that clogged up your hand.

As a result, IMO bigger decks are easier to play in Towers provided you use some of the many cards that discard cards from your own hand ....
